Yup.

Microcenter was running a deal. 360 with a $100 rebate. Well, I got paid rent from both my roomies at the same time and has a little extra cash, so I went ahead and got one.

Sending in the rebate today.

Along with the system I bought 1 game... Ridge Racer 6. Why... b/c I love Ridge Racer and b/c it was only $20!

Then, yesterday I drove Ultra to work, and he got me his discount on 1) a used wireless controller, 2) a cooling unit, 3) a play and charge kit, and 4) Ninty-Nine Nights. All for 25% off. I still need to pay the guy for it too... Thanks Ultra! I owe you $90 or so right? We'll figure it out on Wed.

Yeah... NNN is cool but I was pissed when I found out that it wasn't multiplayer. What the hell is that about. There's not many other games out there I want right now. But Gears of War looks great and I should probably go ahead and pick up Oblivion. Won't happen any time soon though. PSU and Zelda are taking up my time.

I haven't played it much. Played RR for a couple of hours and NNN for about an hour or so. Watched a DVD on it... so that's good. Since my DVD player died on me a couple of months ago, we've gone back to useing my ps2. The 360 does a little better job with it.

One thing I did like is that my TV doesn't do 720p, and NNN is made for 720p. Well either the 360 or my TV upconverted it to 1080i. Not sure which.

The power brick... ok yeah... freakin huge! You know, people complain about the size of the ps3 compared to the 360. I wonder if people put the brick up next to the 360 when they compare... considering the ps3's power source is inside the unit. They are about the same size I think.

And man... that sucker is LOUD! Especially with the cooling unit on the back.

But the games are pretty. Ridge Racer looks really good. I remember when RR5 came out at the ps2 launch... everyone was complaining about "jaggies" in the game. Well, even at 1080i, I still see jaggies on RR6. I think it's just the way Namco does things though. Nothing to say about either system.

NNN looks good when you are close to the action. When there is a lot of distance... it does this blur affect. When you see how many models they put on the screen at one time though, you can tell why.

So, when all is said and done... I spent about $410... got an 360 Premium, 2 games, an extra controller, play and charge kit, and a cooling unit.

Not bad if I do say so myself. Wink
