Bridge to Terabithia

Note: ...this is a kid's movie. It's Disney. So judge it as such, no?

This movie is beautiful. It really captures the heart of the book. While they do change a few things (IE: The keys thing didn't happen in the book, for instance, and Leslie was supposed to be more boyish) they still kept the -heart- of the book intact, which is the most important thing, I think.

For those of you who haven't seen it...it's about a boy whose family is in the 'poor farm family barely making ends meet' category, and the girl who moves in next door, Leslie Burke. Leslie's parents are crazily rich writers who decide they're too attached to material posession and move out of the city so that Leslie will have the chance to really experience life.

They start off with him being primarily annoyed at her for a few things, then they become best friends, and she creates an imaginary world-- Terabithia-- for them to play in and escape from their troubles. (though, her troubles are primarily that none of the other kids like her as she's too 'weird')

I never read the book... but I loved the movie.

I would recommend it.

The way they create Terabithia ... well... it was appropriate.
