I know it's been practically FOREVER since I've made a post here, and my plans for a Pocket Otaku Pangya guild have been put on extended hiatus, but I've been busy feeding my Pokemon addiction for quite some time, and I don't know when I'll be able to come up for air.
Anyway, there's a little something I wanted to discuss with everyone here.
I'm sure you're all familiar with the wonderful anime known as Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and the main group that fansubbed it, Triad. Like many fans of the show, I waited with eager anticipation for the third installment of the series, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, and Triad's sub of it. Now, although Triad is a good fansubber as a whole, their overall personalities leave MUCH to be desired. However, I was willing to deal with it, as long as I got my Nanoha fix. However, as the day to the first release drew closer, their pissiness took a turn for the worse, as evidenced by this newspost on their sate from April 3.

We already have the script translated and partially(?) edited. We're waiting for a better raw, and you can blame all the digital TV channels for airing 1-4 days later than the shit analog one.
Oh yeah, for those of you fanboys who like "Raising Heart" and other engrished names from the official website. Screw you. We're keeping (almost) everything the same as the original and A's. First because we like "Raging Heart" (that and it makes more fucking sense), and second because we like consistency (third, we hate Engrish; see "I CAN BE SHOT"-A's).
Also, look forward to a related surprise soon(tm).
And a minor note the project page has been updated. Shut up bastard-sama/bayoab.
For you people who downloaded another release already. Well, more like a personal question:
We're used to it already; Grab the speedsubs first, get Triad's for archiving. If all you're going to do is archive our stuff, why the fuck do we bother putting subs on for you assholes?

Now, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but that in itself felt like a slap in the face.
And if that was a slap in the face, this next newspost made on April 4 was a kick in the groin.

Wow... exciting isn't it? Watching a bunch of girls do magic training sure is interesting! Add to that shitty plot devices and horrible animation. Not memorable as Musashi but still quite bad.
So in summary. Show is dropped, go watch yesy's.
P.S. The Nanoha mini site is taken down. Go find your own translator for this shitty show.

So, yeah. After that little missive, Triad just lost their spot in my Firefox bookmarks, and I'm never watching any of their crap again.
But putting that disturbing issue aside.....
In my search for another fansubber to feed my Nanoha addiction, I found two other sub groups. DamagedGoodz, and #yesy
I was wondering, in your opinion, which one of these groups is the better subber? |
