Sony has promised they'd deliver a camera add-on to the PSP for some time now, and while the peripheral is already available in Japan, word on its appearance elsewhere has remained under wraps. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, however, has confirmed the peripheral, dubbed the Go! Cam, will appear there on May 16 for 39.99 EURO (roughly $70 USD).
In addition to taking photos and movies, Go! Cam also features a microphone and editing software to manipulate photographs on the go. Additionally, if you're near a Wi-Fi access point, the software allows users to upload photos online.
1UP contacted Sony Computer Entertainment America about Go! Cam, but the company wouldn't confirm plans -- but you can read between the lines. "We don't have an update on any PSP camera peripheral for the U.S. at this point, but we're always evaluating opportunities to expand the features of the PSP," said a company spokesperson. |
