Pokemon Battle Revolution

I just finished watching Gamespot's video preview of the online mode and I am happy to say you DO NOT need Friend Codes to battle online. You may still gather and use them but you can also just grab up a random battle too. The HUD is overlayed nicely and mimics the Diamond/Pearl layout pretty much so familiarity will be there. You can hop online with or without owning the DS games if you want to use "rental Pokemon" also. I'll choose to use my own tho, thank you.

Look out for my all Eevee team!

Hopefully by the time Battle Rev comes out, my bug team will be ready. Nobody expects the bugs anymore. But yeah, friend codes are a pain in the butt, so it's nice to see that you can hop on with whoever at anytime.

Well the thing is...once it was explained to me, I understood why Nin went with Friend Codes. Doesn't make me like them more, but at least I see the reasoning behind them. Plus, all you have to do is check out any gaming siteforums to get some friend codes anyway. It's not like it's the end of the world. I signed up to the Wii site (I forget the name) and I have like 20 people sending me Miis every week. now I'm glad I can just delete their Friend Codes if I want to and ignore them. I'm actually more concerned that they set a limit. LOL

And anyone who has not already pre-ordered it (or even if you have), Circuit City will have it Tuesday for $40. That's ten bucks lower than anyone else. They've been doing this for alot of Nintendo games lately (they did it for Mario Party and Warioware, and i think Super Paper Mario also), I don't know what the kickback is or if they just do it to increase foot traffic in-store but I'll be there. A shame (and a mystery) that they didn't do a premium offer with the game.

Nogs, if you can hook up online with Diamond/Pearl before Wed then PM me. Or whenever you get Battle Rev. I can't wait til Nintendo gets a clue and releases a Pokemon MMO. They've GOT to be working on it or else they're idiots!

I'm gonna try to get online with Pokemon hopefully Tuesday night, (That'll be our test run with Vista. Fingers crossed) so I'll try to catch you then if possible. PM has kinda been geekin out about this too, and although I won't have Battle Rev on tuesday, I do hope to pick it up sortly after on payday. I know our store has a bunch of reserves on it, so hopefully they'll send a few public copies also. I can always snag one and hold on to it.

I was very close of Preordering this game today. But not having a DS makes me feel as if it wasnt worth it. Im still thinking about it.

I guess it depends on how much of a PokeGeek you are but then if you were you'd have a DS and Diamond or Pearl already, huh? I should have mine home by 3pm and be online shortly thereafter. I hate using "rental Pokes" but I'll try just to see how well the onloine aspect is implemented. I'll probably have to wait til the weekend before I can get my real team up and running.
I just wonder how long before you're able to import your own Pokemon? Usually you have to reach some point in the story to do so. I hope it's just "grab and go".

Hehehe. I dont have Diamond and Pearl because I dont have a DS. I bought the original Pokemon when it came out out of a whim because I didnt even know what it was at that time (Red), then I bought Gold and then I got Ruby as a gift. So Ive played all those games. But I dont see myself spending $130 for a Handheld Im not gonna use. Because once Im done with Pokiman, I wont really buy any other games, unless I buy Shonen Jump All Stars 2.

After having my ass handed to me with cherry sauce on top (and two battles "interrupted" while I was winning) I have to ask...Does everyone have a Dialga and Palkia? It's ridiculous that every person I faced in 7 battles all had one or both of them. Jee-sus, gimme a break. Then there was the guy that had Mewtwo, the legendary birds AND Dialga/Palkia! I hate to say it but I really am glad for Friend Codes now as I look forward to the day I don't have to battle randomly at all and can set some semblance of fairness/competetiveness. I just wish Nintendo had created more leeway in adjusting the rulesets. That may be the one area that a game like WWE Raw vs Smackdown has all others beaten. There's practically no combination of options you can't achieve with that game...tho the game still sucks.

Someone get this game and give me your friend code!!!

I read you can have a rental license and you can choose your own Pokemon, but I dont know who is in the rooster.

But I think that Dialga and Palkia are in it.
