This was finally released in Europe yesterday so I was straight down the shops to get it, being a lover of the first title.
I have to say, those judging the game by the demo are doing yourself a great dis-service, I said at the time that the demo was poor to what I believed the final game would be, and I was right.
For a start, the AI was poor on the demo, aking to Gran Turismo style AI I felt, and the track was appaulingly dull.
Now with the full game, the first set of tracks you can race on are the "Proving Grounds" circuits, which are all just coned/walled off sections of one bigger course and are quite testing but scenery wise are incredibly boring. Things do improve however though.
Handling wise, its not as sterile as the demo either, mind you, I think far too many people were playing the demo with all of the aids on which really dampens the experience. So far I only have the "Braking Only Racing Line" on until I've found braking points on all corners.
Now for some pics....
My first car, the Audi TT (I started off in Europe)
And what I've now done to it once I'd earnt some money:
Also what a "friend" did to my car last night, I give you the Audi BeeTTle:
And lastly, my Jaguar E-Type Shagular in a bit of sideways action:
I;m gonna be buying Chixie a Mini when I can, then I'll try and make a "PO" car. |

Forza is a very good game. I usualy dont like racing games at all, and I like it alot. My favorite car is the 69' shelby mustang GT-500KR, Ill get a picture of it up later. Not the fastest car on the block, but it sounds better than yours and it burns rubber through 5th gear
So far the only assists I have on are breaking line and stability control, but I dont realy need the stability control.
Probably the only thing I have against the game is the gap between easy and medium AI seems to be rather large. I consistantly beat the easy AI by 25-40 seconds, but I cant seem to stay ahead of the medium AIs.... maby im just worse than I thought but anyway.
I think we should have a PO car challenge, Lets see who can make the best PO theme car. |

I'm currently racing against medium opposition, thought about putting it up a notch but, well I dunno why I haven't, probably so I can keep up with the people I play it online with in terms of what cars I own.
I've expanded my garage quite a bit, althogh I've not yet got the Shelby, and you're right, all American Muscle Car's sound great, but they aren't quite as elegant as the E-Type |

In what way do you mean character? you drive cars around in circles, sometimes very convoluted circles i.e. nurburgring, but still circles none the less. |

Quite its a racing sim. It's all about the cars and how they drive, this "lack of character" business makes me laugh as its obviously sounds like they're comparing it to PGR where its about showman-ship, when its closest rival is Gran Turismo, which this blows away (well any released version of GT anyway) as GT is incredibly stale, sterile and predicatible, hell you know tyhe AI is going to brake in the exact same point on each lap everytime they reach a corner, this the AI actually races you, even on medium, it tries to outbreak you, gives you little nudges from the side, tries to squeeze you into an uncompromising positions.
Heres two pictures of a 612 Scaglietelli trying to force me into a mistake first by trying to squeeze me away from the racing line:
Then by going round the back of me and pinning me too close to the corner:
and Buda, that PO Mini is awesome! I'm gonna finish off my Vanquish and do my PO car next... |

Actually, The game has as much character as the first, but the visuals are not nearly what they should be.
Dirt and PGR4 look TONS better. |

DiRT and PGR4 also have less cars to model IIRC, plus DiRT is mostly set in deserty circuits... and PGR4 isn't out for a while so they have more time to get the visuals looking better... |

Dood... graphics aren't everything, I'll be the first to say that. But Forza is on par with PGR3!
It's not a bad thing. But I would expect better. |
