"Tony Hawk's Proving Ground Soundtrack Unveiled
Another monster track listing, plus a playable Beastie Boy.

Aside from a partial divergence in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, in which modern emo/rock bands (such as My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday) provided fresh takes on classic punk tracks, the Tony Hawk's series has followed an established route of soundtrack creation in recent years. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground looks to maintain that familiar formula, packing more than 50 licensed tracks comprised of rock and hip-hop offerings from several distinct sub-genres and mixing modern singles and remixes with the occasional nod to the past.

The full track listing is below, but the Beastie Boys have infiltrated more than just the soundtrack of Proving Ground. MTV News is reporting that MCA (Adam Yauch), one-third of the legendary hip-hop trio, will appear in the game as a playable character, apparently doing his best Men in Black impression (as seen above). Music has long been intertwined with skateboarding culture, so it's not surprising to see that the more things change with each passing iteration of the Tony Hawk's franchise, the more things stay the same.

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is set to touch down on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo DS on October 9th. As reported last week, the Xbox 360 version of Proving Ground will feature a playable demo of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, two weeks before it will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. "

I grew tired of TH after TH3 but I admit I still get them all. Curiously enough I did fall into a Downhill Jam fix a few days ago. Despite it's obvious ripoff of SSX, it was fun.

Tony Hawks is alright, its gotten very tired, skate seems to be the new champ!

I still haven't played a THPS that I've cherished or destroyed nearly as much as I did 3. I mean I've gotten to where I can 100% a character in under 2hrs.
