okay, so i know that some of you were poo pooing this game but i loved it! it was my first zelda game to actually beat and i'm excited. unastrike bought the game and had me try it out one day.. he had to go buy another copy for himself cause it was so instantly addicting to me.
it took me way longer than it should have to finish it because i was planning a wedding during the time i was playing it (it was my escape from the planning stress). however, i felt the length of the game was great. i don't have the exact time but i know its no where near the 40 hours of twilight princess. it was long enough that it was satisfying to finish but not so long that you lose interest.
there was concern people had with the controls.. i found them very easy. i liked the freedom of the stylus and the idea of having to use the d-pad to do some of the things you have to do just makes my thumb hurt.
it was challenging and yet because of the controls it refrained from being nigh impossible to beat. i'm not the most coordinated, so having to mash several buttons at once in certain patterns to get an effect doesn't appeal to me. the stylus being your controls allowed for more flexibility and general straightforwardness so you could focus on the puzzles in the game and not ones forced on you with controls.
if you are looking for a completely new take on zelda this isn't it. it is the similar concept of seeking to save zelda/tetra and getting the boomarang, bow and arrow etc and using them to solve puzzles. however, i found the story very entertaining and comical with some new twists and fun elements which made this zelda game worth playing if you like the series.
if i had any critiques they were generally resolved as i progressed in gameplay. one thing that bothered me a little was after beating the final boss i never saw an opportunity to save and was unable to continue play in order to do the side quests but the game did allow me save before beating the final boss. so if you want to continue and do the side quests you can go into the saved game and do them that way.
overall i loved it. so i would suggest picking it up if you are looking for a fun and addictive ds title.

I agree, I thought it was very refreshing gameplay. At first I was a bit worried about the motion controls and worried that it would hinder the gameplay, but I quickly preferred the touch controls. The puzzles are definitely more fresh, although the game seems to be a bit on the easy side so far, I'm not complaining.
Have you tried the multiplayer game yet? |

You can unlock some golden ship parts for the adventure mode if you do "Big Plays" in the multiplayer mode, but only over WIFI. There's a list of them somewhere, you have to do stuff like "Kill Link within one minute", "Don't Die", "Smash 10 items" and stuff like that. |
