Woot! Ok, before I go into my whole thingie (a ride you can all enjoy), lemme clear up some stuff:
I will consume dairy.
I'm doing it for my health
I realize that chicken is healthy, but personally it takes too long to cook and has too many bones. (unless we're talking chicken nuggets... but I'm doing this for my health, so there goes that)
OK! SO! I just got done breaking my frshest of bankrolls (all 30 bucks lol) on what I hope tunrs into a 2 week supply of meatless food. I'm taking it slowly, 2 weeks at a time, but the goal is to go veggie. After I feel that my body has adjusted I'm going to start working out. I've done so in the past, but have never done it in conjunction with a diet. That being said, this is not a diet, lol. It's a change in lifestyle, I believe for the better. I think that changing one's diet AND beginning a physical fitness routine (for me anyway) is a bit too much stress on the body, and I'll probably relapse. So I'm gonna do one at a time. I have to change the diet first, because that's less physical stress. Anyway, I wanted to share with you guys, and to please please please not be the "guy who blows smoke in the face of the person who's quitting." Merci!

Welcome to the greener side.
You might want to consume some fish (shellfish even) for the time being while your body adjusts. It helps.
But congratulations. ^^ |

I'm not currently eating meat (except for fish, but I don't eat that that much). But for me, it's a religious thing...I gave it up for Lent. This is the second year that I've done it, and I have to say, it's not nearly as hard as you may think, and I quit cold turkey. There's PLENTY of great non-meat things that you can eat out there. For example, I make a mean lentil and/or pea soup. And at the end of the day, I really feel good about myself for doing it.
I'm not sure that it's something that I would do permanently, but after the second year of trying it, eating meat is definitely something that I would consider cutting back on to maybe once or twice a week, instead of everyday. It'll save you a ton of money too. |

*drags knuckles* What is this..... veggie you speak of?
Good for you Terin, life style changes are always difficult, but I'm rooting for ya. You wont get much help from me though, Im the most carnivorous person I know, but I wanted to show my support.
Just out of curiosity, how extreme are you planning on takeing it? Some people just pretty much cut out meat in general, but some take it so far as to not eating eggs or pretty much anything that comes from a living creature. |

But I'm sure you miss your favorite veggie...BACON! hahaha.
Ry, good luck. Meet is hard to give up, for me at least. During lent on Fridays I cannot eat meat, but that's always the day I want to stop at that famous taco truck on my block!!!
Just make sure you're getting enought protein. I would recommend beans for that. They're sooo yummy! |

Thanks guys!! As far as bacon goes, I don't have it that often anyway, it's like that rare holiday treat. Also, as I was jobless there for awhile, I was used to living off of ramen soup, which is meatless, so that kinda helped prep me I guess, lol. Faye, I'm not taking it to that level. I"ll still consume dairy. I haven't decided on eggs... I don't eat those too often anyway.
