That place looks absolutely torn up, and the game I was planning to attend was canceled too! On a more serious note, it sounds as though only minor injuries were had, but I hope all of you out there are in the best of ways right now. |

Yes! I was glad I wasn't downtown as well, the reports were rather frightening.
I hope all the POs in the Atlanta metro area are alright. We get hail like this in Spain all the time, it's very damaging. However in my part of Spain we don't have many trees or soft buildings like Atlanta.  |

They're now reporting from various outlets that a F1 or small-F2 tornado struck downtown at the site of the Dome, Philips, Centennial Park, WCC, etc. |

I'm wondering if MomoCon is still a go. All the chaos was around GA Tech but the campus doesn't seem to be reporting any damage...it was GA State across the street that got hit...
The pictures of the Suntrust building were incredible. all the windows were blown out from the pressure change. And I can't imagine how it would feel to be in the GA Dome and have the roof suddenly have a giant hole in it. Its really sad at all the millions it will prolly cost to fix everything. I'm just glad so few ppl were hurt...I think it was about 8 ppl that got sent to the hospital...pretty fortunate.
Id hate to be one who took MARTA, our transit sytem...they shut all the ATL stations down for the night due to some damage. So all those poor ppl who did the usual "park n ride" had to walk to whatever was left of their cars. |

On a similar, icy subject, we've had a whole building collapse here in Quebec, from the weight the compressed snow and ice on the roof. Several buildings were evacuated and the people got to work so hard that the damn province ran out of shovels.
That's right! We ran out of shovels! Too many people busy de-snowing the roofs now. |
