Cuba here I come! T -24h and I'm landing in the vicinity of Varadero to enjoy 2 weeks of ''all included'' hotness! It'll be a change from the weather here <.< And also, it's the first time I'll step foot in tropical sand!

Hmmm, now to find a camera. It appears the only thing I don't have so far Ops? XD

Hmmm, now I wonder if the odds of getting my flight hijacked are gonna be high seeing as I've got one hell of a loaded (in fuel) plane (seeing as there's no stopping in the states on the way down there eh). That'd give this ''stress-relief'' trip one hell of a kick-start if I could snap a terrorist's neck or two mwahaha.

'Nywayz. I mostly wanted to get the hell away from work right now as it was driving me CRAZY. Not to mention it's been several years I've been pushing back over and over again because of work and other things, I can't go on a ''father-son'' trip in the south if my dad's dead, and at this rate in my life, I'll likely have less time for these trips in the futur - better make good use of the time I have this very instant while I can!

P.S.: I like how the spell check gives me the following for auto-correcting ''Varadero'': Parader's, Parader, Paraders, Camaraderie, Camaraderies. >x3

Cuba! Awesome. I think you'll have a lot of fun, because despite what the American government says, Cuba is a pretty cool place. And I think where you're going is a resort town, so you're going to get a pretty picture of the place.

OMG!! I'm really excited for you! I've wanted to go to Cuba for as long as I remember...it sucks that despite our "freedom" in the United States, we can't go. It's even more unfortunate because I am of Cuban descent, and yet somehow I'm not entitled to discover and/or explore my heritage. What's up with that? One day though...

I hope you take lots of pictures and share them with us. I, for one, would be extremely grateful to see them.

You can get that stuff anywhere in the Caribbean. Recently I smuggled a bottle of Cuban rum back from the Cayman Islands. It's like drinking brandy...

I'm BACK and ALIVE (dunno about Fidel tho xD)

Now, I DID almost die 4 times, so, thanks for the ''Don't die.'', scrum, it might just be what saved me >x3

More details later..

NOW. I have tons of pics, and I had lot's of fun. Met a lot of people! Mostly girls o.o. Well, I don't know, maybe because I was just so stressed from work and just wanting to get the F*** outa Montreal and wasn't there to F*** that I ended up surrounded by girls seeing as it mightabeen stamped in my forehead or something and they didn't think I looked gay either, so eh, I guess they wanted a some sense of security, which is totally understandable, it was PACKED with guys that actually wanted to ''get it on'' (can't blame 'em).

I dunno if I ended up disappointing some cause really, I wanted a BREAK. Not a uh, ''Spring Break'' if you know what I'm saying *hint hint* (even tho I realized some time after my vacation was set that one of my two weeks ended up being spring break time haha o well, it wasn't THAT bad. really.).

Jokes aside, I really enjoyed the complete lack of sexual tension while being there. I expected it to something that would kick in unexpectedly and/or eventually, but I guess I've been underestimating myself. I did have 2 (out of the 8 I've met) closer friends, but nothing that we knew could last, and it didn't go far - we had no reasons to rush or anything *cough*nothing past second base*cough*, just wanted to have fun and besides, sorta-faking being a couple had it's advantages: it would keep the other boys away from them (which they found relieving ah). We just enjoyed the moment. And the moon. Once I saw it set in the sea, it was HUGE and a slim one too! (à-la NiGHTs into Dreams) only it was SUPER RED. Crazay)

Gotta say tho, that even going out in the Resort's restaurants, I found people's reaction rather interesting to ''a dude coming in with 6 women at his table''. XD Charming (I'll be honest, it never happened to me). Little did they know that more then half of them had bfs and are loyal! But the appearances can be uh, misleading? ^^;

Right, enough about the people. Now, about my near-death experiences.

#1 Not too bad, I thought it was a small fish at first, only when I realized it was freakin' far away I figured ''damn, that's the fattest Great Barracuda-looking fish I've ever seen, I'm even too far to get a good picture of it!'' So I swam closer to it and when I felt like I should change my angle of approach cause I thought he could spot me, he started moving away, and he didn't seem like he was making much of an effort, but he out-swam me easy. I was shocked. Kinda forgot I was snorkeling and NOT diving for a moment, so uh, I had to head back up for air and I was lower then I thought. Ops?

#2 Same underwater excursion. I Swim in fairly shallow water (14 f) and as I head back towards the shore, I freeze. I felt like my heart stopped for an INSTANT: Something that didn't look like a ''swallowed by the sea'' floating marker for swimmers near the shore. More like. An underwater mine. Attached with a chain. And with some nasty seaweeds growing on it. Heart attack plus 1? haha almost. Then I decided to get closer to it so I could get a better shot with my underwater cam (it's cool, it's a disposable one, so it wouldn't have been a big of a loss had I exploded underwater ;p). Turns out to be uh... well, it DID have 4 ''trigger-like'' stumps on the top, from afar, it was quite convincing, but close? I think it was just some seaweed formation. If God exists, he's got a sick sense of humor, and one of his ''practical jokes'' is to have seaweed grow to make anchored stuff underwater look like underwater mines. Good one, G.

#3 BAYWATCH TIME! After having wrestled with some locals on the beach (not sure if they were allowed on the resort... much even less sure I was allowed to fight with them XD ... *cough*I mean play*cough*) We decided to wash away all our sand (Cuban wrestling is fun, especially when it looks like the dude's part of the local Judo dojo... that I WISH I visited DAMMIT. It looked AWESOME from the bus I took to a catamaran trip) So uh yeah, washing away the sand. To do that, nothing's more satisfying then diving straight into the waves! ... when at a fair distance. The shore was longer to get deep where I was compare to other spots on the beach, annnndd... the wave went all like ''HELL NO'' and moved back as I dove into a rather shallow amount of water. My head met the sea floor pretty quickly and the crunch of my neck momentarily paralyzed me. It was nice for a while, to float there in the sea, eyes closed, feeling the waves around my back and water all around my head, but to avoid having people freaking out (and to breath) I had to motivate myself to move slowly back out of the water. Which I did with more efforts then I expected. Still hurt a bit. I'll get that checked out soon. Can't do much now with that back/neck ache

#4 RICE! I choked on some on my last day, last meal. It was the shittiest rice I'Ve had and the meat in it was dry, but I was starved and, bold as I am, I'm never to leave a plate full of food especially when I filled it myself. So I ate, disinterestingly, while having a conversation with a family I met there. At one point, I felt that dry meat needed a bit of water to ''wash it down'' a lil. Too bad I had actually started to choke. Had I known I was caught with some food down there, I wouldn't have went for so much water (or any liquids altogether... GOD that's like, embracing DEATH to do so) And I choked real bad. Took a while for people to react (after my original performance of ''Gwantanamera'' with a water in my mouth the night before for the ''Mr. Kawama'' contest; people thought I was kidding, fame can be so cruel) Glad a dude came behind me to save me. Took him 4 tries. Now my back and ribs and chest hurt a bit, but I'm glad I'm alive.

RIGHT. O yeah and pictures. I have tons of em, but most were taken with other people's cam. So I'll have to track them down! I'll see if I can upload a few to PO ^^

P.S.: I won a bottle of white rum for the ''Mr Kawama'' contest, which I won over my dad XD O man I can't wait to get that video of the show from my Russian friend! >w<
