I don't know if any of you have heard of this series, but it runs on Showtime, but I think I read that they're going to start showing season 1 on CBS...?

The series focuses on Dexter, a guy in his late 20's early 30's who, as a child, had "weird" feelings and urges. His father notices and teaches him how to cope with them. He grows up to be a forensic blood splatter specialist for the Miami Police Dept and a serial killer. Working for the MPD he sees a lot of people that seem to get away with their bad acts and he takes it upon himself to kills them in a serial killer fashion.

So in other words, it's about a serial killed who hunts and kills other serial killers in his spare time.

The series is very interesting as it develops. And it shows a lot about Dexter's past growing up with his family.

Season 2 just ended in December...? I was told and hopefully a Season 3 is in the works and premiering soon.

A friend told me about it and I just bought Season 1 for $29.99. Best $30 I've spent in a long time. If you have the chance, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

**Warning** The series has a lot of blood and gore. So, make sure you're into that kind of stuff.

It is such a unique show with a great perspective and shows you that everyone has a "dark" side that they are afraid to talk about. Dexter is creepy, but really cool!!!

Buy Dexter?

I just Downloaded it. Razz

Itsa decent show but pales in comparison to Rome and Deadwood.

Showtime has some catching up to do to HBO/BBC.

I mean, I have no problem killing killers that's all good. Just some of the episodes got hokey and Dexters relationship decisions felt tacked on just to add "extra" drama to episodes that lacked substance.

I think i watched one episode not too long ago at a friend's apartment. I couldn't complain...it was some good viewings.

And if it's only 30 bucks to get the first season, i may have to make a minor investment.

Rev has been trying to get me to watch this for some time now. I don't know though...I'm not a big fan of "popular" TV...or really even TV in general. And I'm certainly not a fan of anything that revolves in any way around police, police investigations, or courtroom/law crap. So I think I'll pass.

You are of course entitled to your own opinion GAAZ but I love the show. I like the whole idea of the tension between his gf and him and that he has the big secret that he knows he cannot share with her.

Then also the whole background of Dexter was that he wanted to be a normal kid, but he had the urge to kill. A lot of the flashbacks go into that really well and I dunno. It is more of a CSI type show, but I really like it.

I can't really say anything without spoiling anything. But one of the things he says in the 1st episode is that he doesn't feel any feelings. And there's a reason why his dad told him to kill killers, but you have to watch pass the 1st episode to find that out. But Dexter's always faking feelings and that's something that makes for good drama. Because he can fake some stuff, but others it's hard for him, so he gets all awkward.

The characters evolve as the series progress, but it's all part of the story and I was pretty pleased with the series in general.

I heard what season 2 is about, but I'm not going to say anything either. I need to find it, and most likely I'll end up downloading it, because I can't wait for the DVD to come out.

I've seen all of season 1 and like ever other episode of season 2. \

When he starts cheating on his GF with another girl and gets scared he's gonna lose his first GF you realize he has had feelings all along he just didn't really know what they were. Much like an Autistic child can't differentiate feelings Dexter's the same way. At the point of his cheating he does the most retarded things and just makes everything worse. They try to heighten drama by making Dexter get caught in a butt-load of lies that come crashing down on him. At that point everything just becomes completely predictable.
