In pain but still here...

Around 7:30 am April 17th I was rear ended by a woman that did not see me. That means she hit me going about 40mph and did almost $5000 in damage to my wife's car. I missed 3 weeks of work and I am now in physical therapy for recovery. I've missed you guys and hope I can catch up again in due time.

Goodness gracious, I'm very glad you're alright. You don't have to go into too much detail about your injuries, but I'm glad you're in recovery. I hope there is no permanent damage to your body. Best wishes, thank you for posting.

dang...last time i got rear-ended, the guy was going only 7mph and it felt like a bulldozer slammed into the back of my car.

Thanks guys. It's awesome to hear from you all and thanks for the well wishes.

PT is slow moving. I'm just now able to raise my left arm higher than my shoulder. I can only use it for about an hour to an hour and a half before it starts hurting too bad and I can't grip anything. I got a ton of x-rays and a couple of MRIs and it looks like I have 2 bulging discs in my neck now thanks to this. But luckily they (all 3 of my doctors) are saying that I will not need surgery and that time and the PT will handle it all.

Recovery is a scary thing. At first, you have no idea if your limitations are permanent and what it will take to get things back into good working order. And heading back to work with limitations feels odd as well. It's so strange being somewhere so familiar and yet not being the same person you were when you left. Just musing, though.

Overall I am confident about the turn out here and am looking forward to seeing what's next. A step at a time.

As for my bad luck, it's all life just colored differently. Love ya, Sci!

I'm glad to hear you're getting there and its looking like no surgery is required. If your insurance won't cover what you need, you may have to sue. But at least you'd be doing it on a legit basis. I guess this means your little ones were not in the car...what a relief!

She didn't see you? Where'd it happen? I just got my car back last night and I'm paranoid as hell that I'm going to hit something.

Are you able to drive?
