My 360 red ringed on me.
Less than 2 years I've had the thing.
Oh well, guess I'll call MS support and see if it is as horrible as I hear.
Sucky timing too since CK just got a 360 and we were planning on playing some coop crackdown.
Oh well. |

It's not as horrible as it WAS, 3-4 weeks probably, and you get a new 3 year warranty, and most likely a free month of LIVE. |

Totally sucks bro. But it was bound to happen. It is M$. Mine red ringed not even 6 months after buying it, so you were lucky. Now I'm waiting on this one to die as well.  |

I hope you're right. I had just gotten back into Lost Odyssey when it died... and Too Human is coming out... and Viking is coming in the mail.
You know what I would love to see... as much as I say I hate MS...
MS and Sony need to bury the hatchet and team up to make the ultimate console. Sony can do the hardware and MS can do the software... then, maybe we would actually get a COMPLETE console! |

Aiman: What? Oh hey, let me turn on my Playbox 1080. Oh noes! It's frozen again. Stupid Windows based console software!
Shino: Really? I turned mine on yesterday and it still booting up. I don't know why!
Aiman: Oh yeah, that happens. Careful though. Sometimes when you turn the thing on and it takes more than 12 hours, it runs slow and you have to restart the system because of all the crap that the Vista based software has that take 2GB of the 2.5GB of RAM that the console has to run. I have no idea how some games even work in this machine.

Mine ringed about a week or so ago. My roommate put it on my new receiver which was 1000F (was thats being sarcastic but it was still damned hot.) But apparently the GPU fault now has a lifetime warranty. I should have mine back in about a week or so. |

Its not bad at all, we just had this happen to us as well.
It happened around the time that hte Murloc song was up for download for Guitar Hero 3 (I believe it was GH3). He put in GH3 and it red ringed We called that night, they sent us a box for us to send it in (I want to say it was sent overnight but not 100% on that, if not it was about a day) and then we packed it up, kept our HD, sent it out, took about 2 weeks for us to get ours back. Its much quieter than before, so I honestly suspect they just sent us a newer system instead of just refurbishing ours. We did get a free month of XBL also upon its return. It cost us no money, just a little time and patience.  |
