I saw an advance screening last night at 12:30. I LOVED it! Without giving too much away it did deviate from the book a bit but stayed true to most of the plot. Is making me drool for the final chapter!
Anyone else seen it or have an opinion? |

Honestly it wasn't my favorite but there are some intense scenes that I remembered from the book that translated beautifully onto the big screen. Very dark, very brooding. The girl who played Luna Lovegood was perfect, she was total comic relief. I would recommend for all Harry Potter fans and even non fans, it's good all around. |

Legend seen it yet?
Chixie's in two minds about seeing it, she really wants to see it at the cinema, but she's thinking of holding out for the DVD as I'll watch it on DVD but not at the cinema as its not really something I'd seek out to watch. |

At the risk of sounding slightly smug, I went to the world premiere at Leicester square  was really good, most enjoyable! Just the right mix of dark and funny.
On a side note, Guy Ritchie really shouldn't be texting during a film *tuts* |

I've actually seen it twice now...the first time, I absolutely loved it, remembered close to nothing from the book, and thought it was a very nice movie.
Then we went to see it a second time, so we could pay more attention to the details and such, and after reading and hearing more of the reviews. It was probably one of the furthest from the book adaptations where things that occurred in the movie, never happened in the book. I'm interested in what the DVD will bring with any extended or deleted scenes. |

Felt like a speedrun to me, cutting out the titular plot entirely, and doing some things out of sequence with others. I realize as the books have been going along, they've been getting bigger, but you can still do decent justice to something like that without making it feel like if it wasn't involved in the Voldemort plot, it wasn't there, didn't happen, or wasn't important.
Also, they continue to sell Luna short. The actress palying her has her nailed perfectly, but there aren't enough scenes with her in it. |
