Of course, by then the roots that Sperrit had been distracting Demonic from had latched onto his arms and legs and was growing spikes that were digging into his flesh as they spoke. |

Flames rise from Demonic's body the minute he feels the roots, flames hotter than the deepest reaches of the Hells themselves.
Of course, Sperrit, while Demonic was distracted, was distracted himself(what with the roots and the talking) from the ice creeping along the ground behind him, which is only now reaching his legs. |
