X2 reviews - Don't give anything away tho!

OK, seems like I'm the first one to see it so here goes: I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I think it was a very good movie but it blew the first one away by a mile (and the first one wasn't too bad). A few timeline distortions aside (like having Iceman and Colossus at about the same age WHILE Hank McCoy is still human) it stayed pretty faithful to the comic series. Just when I thought they were gonna sell out to the cartoon series they kept it pretty tight. I am amazed. As a "Summer Action Flick" it was very cool but as an X-Men movie it more than held it's own. They even laid down VERY solid groundwork for the sequel. Can we say Shi'ar? (I don't think they'll go that far tho)

As a side note, Hulk looks horrible. The Hulk character is completly CG. Shrek looked better. Really. All of the motions are so bad it looks like something T*HQ did. I'm so glad to not be a big Hulk fan. Those that are, don't say I didn't warn you. They'd have done better to rehash the old Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno TV eps. And tell me they didn't cast the star just because his name is Bana (Banner). Sad.

The movie of the Summer tho? Three words: The. Matrix. Reloaded. GOD, is this movie gonna kick ass! If you thought everyone copied "the matrix" look before, just wait. I guaran-damn-tee that again, all of hollywood will be duping their FX until the next Matrix. I even liked Keanu (for once). It's not a bad Summer for movies, guys and girls. Save up those pennies!

Pennies? What movie theater you goin to? I gotta take out a loan against my car ta see a movie these days. (Not that my car is worth much more than a movie ticket) But Jeeze, I mean pennies? Yeesh.

Go to matinee showing. Usually only costs between 4-6 bucks.

Yeah, NYC doesn't have them but the other 49 states (and rest of the civilized world) gives matinees.
An alternative would be to get a better car so your loan is greater. LOL

I saw X2 yesterday. Good stuff all around. I never really followed X-Men, so I'm grateful to have Rev, who's a comic encyclopedia, to explain everything to me. I think however, that this one suffers the same problem as the first, and that's that it sort of cuts off without explaining some things. Fortunately, however, this movie addressed anything that I didn't understand from the first one, so I'm assuming that the next one will address what I didn't get from this one. But otherwise, the movie was awesome, and everyone should go see it.

The previews were pretty cool too. I don't think I need to say anything else about Matrix Reloaded, except that it has "Best Movie of the summer" written all over it. The Hulk looks kinda weird all CGed, and I'm not sure if I like it or not yet. I'll probably go see it anyway though. Especially for the line, "You're getting me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry...." That movie with Matt Damon as a siamese twin to that other guy looks to be the traumatic end to Matt Damon's prosperous career. Too bad too, cuz he's much better than Ben Affleck, in my opinion. Rev told me that he wants to go see Pirates of the Carribean dressed as a pirate so that he can say it was rated "Arrrrr!" It looks sorta hokey, but it's directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, and seeing Rev dressed as a pirate is just something I can't miss! Finally, League of Extraordinary Gentleman looks way cool also, and looks to be a possible contender for "2nd Best Movie of the summer." I'm interested in checking out the graphic novel now, because it just looks like a great concept. Plus, you can never go wrong with Sean Connery.

I tried to DL X-men 2 offa the internet so I could watch it to see if it was worth my time...hehehe

Unfortunatley I got a Hustler video called "Doggy Style with Snoop Doggy Dog" And while the story had many climactic moments the overall sountrack featuring nothing but Snoop Dogg songs drove me away. So if this WAS actually the X-men movie I must rate it -13 out of 10. However if it was to be the porn that it ended up looking like I'd haveta give it a -25 out of 10...hehehe

second off, i saw X2 with ming and rev yesterday as well, and i have to say that i was pleasantly impressed with it. I got to see Gene grey start to transform into pheonix, which is kickass in itself, and i got to see nightcrawler. All i have to say is that the first 15 minutes of the movie, where nightcrawler kicks everyone's ass in the whitehouse, is the best part of the whole goddamm friggen movie. Also, the trailers in the movie where outstanding. Personally, i think im gonna have to be the opposite of everyone, and say that the Hulk looks like its going to be a desent movie...cause i like the hulk. And the matrix reloaded looks un-fuggin-believeable. that is all Hmmm

also, i have to say, that this was the first time that i heard Wolverine in the movie go "bub"...that was awesome Very Happy

He said it once in X-men when he was fighting Sabertooth on the Statue of Liberty. I think it was after he almost plummeted to his death but he did that like 5 times during the fight.
