Server Update Info - What happened and what's a little quirky

Well the server switch has been completed successfully for the most part. Here is what happened over the weekend.

10:00 PM Friday 12/13
Started switch. Exported database. Anything posted to the board (since b/c of my inability to save admin settings I was unable to turn it off) will not be on the new server. There were 9 posts after I shut exported the db.

3:00 AM Saturday 12/14
Got pissed off b/c things were not going according to plan and went to bed.

10:00 AM Saturday 12/14
Started literally from scratch and started instally the board on the new server.

12:00 PM Saturday 12/14
Finished installing everything. Switched Domain Name to pint to the new Server. This required the changing of the domain name on the new server and changing the DNS at the registrar of the Domain name.

12:15 AM Monday 12/16
Go to bed pissed off b/c the Domain name / DNS switch had not been completed by the 2 companies mentioned above.

8:00 AM Monday 12/16
Arive at work and notice the board is working.

Now.. there are a couple of quirks I have seen so far.

1) As you can see, I have not installed all of the smilies just yet. I will get that done as soon as possible

2) The short cuts to the most recent post in a Forum that are on the right of the screen when looking at all of the forums... These links will not work at first. Until someone posts in a topic. Ikonboard uses Data files as well as Database entries. I can only assume that this info was kept in a data file and not in the Database. This is why the links do not work. Since I did a fresh install of the board instead of just transfering it over, the datafiles were not all transfered. I am giong to see if I can find the correct data file and transfer it over so this problem will be solved.

The good things taht came from this...
1) MUCH FASTER!
2) Searches work
3) New Posts link works
4) You can stay logged in.
5) Topic tracker is active again. (For the time being)

I hope I have not caused too much inconvience to anyone. Things will start to go back to normal soon. Thank you everyone for being so paitient.

Why is "Add Reply" all squiggly? Oh, and so far so good. I think I had some PO withdrawls over the weekend. But I made do with a brick wall and some spray paint....MWAHAHA!

ok the add_reply button is fixed.

Hadn't changed it in the skin props.

If you guys see anything else that is different from the way the board was before, please post it or PM me and let me know so I can fix it.

man this thing is a lot faster huh?

Work has got me bogged down big time right now. But As soon as I have the time, I will make it. I will have it un and running by this weekend.

I'm actually going to be away from PO for two days... probably... tomorrow and Thursday. I have to travel to Huntsville AL for work. funfun.
