Yesterday the board appeared to go down in the evening. This was an issue of phpwebhosting.com who hosts PocketOtaku.
I first assumption was that our database went down. I was unable to get into the control panel for the site as well. This problem was fixed last night.
I will fill in more after I investigate further.

opened a support ticket on the problem... here is the response I got. Maybe this will solve the occasional lag we get too... let's hope.

I was wondering what happened to the server that I use last night\. It seemed like MySQL went down and everything that didn't access MySQL was loading horribly slow\. The error message that the site was getting was "Too Many Connections\."
Please let me know what happened\.

Hi Christopher,
We had a user whose script went out of control and locked the server up. We've disabled them and it should not happen again. We are very sorry for the problem.

happened again... newest support ticket...

I opened a support ticket yesterday about not being able to get to pages that used info from the MySQL database\. I received an email saying that the problem was solved\.
I'm seeing the error again on my website whenever I or any of my users tries to access a page that uses data from MySQL\.
Getting the same "Too Many Connections" error\.
A lot of my users are getting frustrated with this\. Please let me know what the problem is and how you are resolving it\.

Hi,
This will stop now. We had removed the abusive user but they still had a mysql user and starting using that to remotely connect to the database. I believe as of 10 minutes ago all their access is gone and the server should get back to normal. I am very, very sorry for the problem.
