Well?!? OUT WITH IT! Which do you prefer? I myself love sprites. Spyro and Co. are OK, but nothing can replace Crono, Magus, Claude Kenni, or any Seiken Densetsu character. SPRITES FOREVER WOOH00!

Sprites for sure, the lvl of detail allowed in sprite work is just prettier. Not as fluid animation wise because of all the work needed for that, but I still prefer a 2D sprite fighter any day of the week (Unless it's going against SC2 Razz)

In all honesty, with the way graphics are advancing now-a-days, I'll take an amazingly-designed polygon model over a high-res sprite.

it all depends on the effect you're going for. I have a weakness for sprite-based fighters, but 3d platform games are pretty fun as well. I don't think it should be an all-or-nothing choice.

Nod
I agree... but keep in mind that SOTN had 3d polygon backgrounds as well as Multi-sprite entities.

Polygons now are better now then they once were (FFVII anyone?)

But being an old schooler at heart. I don't have a preference really. I think they both have pluses and minuses.
