By Gainax, the fine folks who whipped up FLCL (you can really tell by the character design and animation style) it doesn't get much funnier that this. It's kinda SciFi/Action/Fantasy/Comedy. The story? Two kinds who grew up in the Abenobashi shopping arcade notice that the four gods of the shopping arcade (statues of a tiger, dragon, turtle, and bird) have been disappering as the shops that own them close down. When the last statue is broken, the kids are transported to another version of the shopping arcade...in medievel england....then to Abenobashi Space station....then to Abenobashi Hong Kong. Everyone they know is there to...just in different roles....kinda like in Wizard of OZ. You know...the Scarecrow, Tin man, and Lion were people Dorothy knew. Anyway, it's really really funny. I think everyone should go pick it up right...........NOW! |
