Advanced jobs!

Getting ever closer to level 30, and now i gotta pick an advanced job. Since the start ive wanted to go PLD, but lately... those spears are lookin' mighty nice... and ive almost decided to go drg. I guess Ill just have to get both and try them out.

Are any of you DRG or PLD? How much fun are they to play? And how is it finding parties? Question

Nin/War

Drg/Rdm

Pld/Whm

I'm sticking with Nin war for now since it will be the easiest to level up for me (being a warrior to start) as well as I can make the Ninja dual wield like Shino does (One sword forhand and one katana backhand.)

Let the sweetness begin!

Of course this requires me to go back to warrior and get my skull first.

I still have a close way to 17. Though I was talking to one of the Ls members this past days and he said that we have a Lv 26 WHM in our Ls that might be able to help me Power level during the weekend. The whm can accompany us as a separete person and heal my PT as needed. Which is a great thing !! YAY !! So Im gonna try and power level this weekend, because Ive been trying to reach 18 since the weekend and Im starting to get pissed because every PT I get in they either dont heal properly or dont provoke in time causing MY death !! Which is making me mad !! Ive been 2500 tnl 3 times already !!! So Im gonna do that this weekend and try and get to 30 ASAP...

About my advance job Im going for the Dark SIDE !!! MWAHAHA DRK all the way. Though Im tempted doing teh DRG quest and teh SMN quest too.

As for subjobs, probly DRK/WAR is a good combo. But I heard as for ADV jobs, the only ones are actually meant for a good sub are PLD and SAM. Im still thinking about Subs for my ADV, I might do a SAM sub for katanas. Ill see what Ill do... Im still thinking and I have a loooong way to go.

When you unlock the extra jobs do they stay unlocked for all your future characters cause if I unlocked summoner I may wanna start a new char that's all summoner babeeee. (Provided I ever get past level 9)

Everything is independant on your characters, so no Az.

And Shino I'll give ya a bit of pre-advice for those combos.

Nin/War: This'll work perfectly, so long as you keep a large supply of Blink powder for that ninjutsu. The point of a ninja tank is to never get hit Cobbi

Drg/Rdm: To be honest, I've tried this, and it only seems especially useful when soloing past level 60. You wont have enough MP to actually decently heal, but if you have your level 60 helmet and your Wyvern out, and are below 50% HP, then if you use any magic your Wyvern will cast Cure III on you. It works for anyone in the party, but it's ueseless to try because your White mages will be curing them faster than your Wyvern anyways. Let the mages heal, and the melee fight. S'all I have to say.

Pld/Whm: Never, ever, be a paladin without a Warrior subjob. The entire point of a paladin is to be a giant brick wall for the enemy to beat against. If you can't taunt the enemy, your existance is null and void.

I've raised dragoon to 60, so I know tons about that advanced job, and I know atleast 5 paladins above level 60, so I can tell you lots about that too. Esentially how it goes is this: Paladins will always get an invite. They are crutial and necissary, an ideal tank for any party. Dragoons belong to a handful of "other fighters" that people would choose from to form a party. They're usually the last one to be chosen, because they need a 3rd melee to round out the group of 3 melee and 3 mages or 2 mages and a bard. To be honest from level 50 through 60 with Dragoon, I created every single one of my parties, all with japanese folks. It was quite an experience, leading em all. But I'd rather not do that again.

Thanks for the advise Cobbi. I am currently leaning more toward Nin/War right now anyway. Think I will stick with that.

Heheh, he sure is. Maximillian, Orts, and Gatts are the ones I know well. I knew Stryder and Elite too, but Elite quit and Stryder is kinda an asshole so yeah.

Most likely PLD tho.
