Sam Raimi is reborn in the vesel of some mexican director guy named Guillimar Del Torro or something.

Basically this is an action movie that goes back to action movie roots IE no bullet time..No stoopid swoopy cameras and lotsa whuppins.

One Liners aplenty and even a love story folded in there. I can see the movie sucking for some and I never read the comic book soooo I can't tell ya if the translation is cool...But the liberal use of Nazi's and Cthulu won me over.

I found it kinda sucktastic, but mostly because i have a passing familiarity with the comic.

example: in the comic that robot knife ninja was a scientist and... uh... not a ninja.

It had its moments as an action movie, but it definitely wasn't like "seeds of destruction", which is what it was supposed to be based off of.

conclusion: not the worst movie ever, but not really what i was looking for. It's okay as long as i don't think of it as 'hellboy'.

But you haveta admit it was an action movie from like the 80's..Not all this crappy repeat the Matrix stuff we see everywhere.

Saw it. Twas ok. I wouldn't say anything spectacular about it. Yu just kinda felt like real outsider looking in on just one segment of the bureau's work day. When people died it was kinda like Ah well...let's keep truckin. Never really read the comic so I can compare. Was entertaining enough and certainly not SUPER stinker. The Russian corpse was slightly funny. The surgery compulsion piece was pretty gross. Lips and eyelids. ~stomach churn~

It was a good movie, but not great. I liked it. Something refreshing in a world of everything is special effects.

I pretty much agree with everyone in saying that it was OK. I rental, maybe, but unless you're a diehard fan of the comics, I'd see something else in the theatre.

You people are crazy..I laughed my ass off during this movie. It's dead ringer for best comedy with "Walking Tall" and its charming but loveable character played by Johnny Knoxville.

I gotta toss in since I saw it too, that I really didnt like it. I could have easily passed on this on and saw Jersey Girl, whcih stinks because the preview made it out to look a lot cooler. I did like the one linders, I did like the actoin adn special effects, but the story, which knit like a sweater, had just as many holes strectched as thin as it was. I suggest renting this and making snide comments during hte movie with friends at home.
