"Oh, I'm ok. How 'bout you, Dad? Still losing at golf?"
"Now how could I possibly have any fun if I didn't play golf?"
"Oh, you play now? I thought you just wacked the ball for shits and giggles!"
(Laughter) "Peter, you ungrateful boy! How was I cursed with two pitiless wretches such as the two of you?"
"Gee, I don't know...Must have been the job, eh? (Trailing off into laughter)
(Laughter)
(Subsides) "Anyway, I wanted to call to say hi, and to thank you for the wedding present you sent me. It really means a lot to me, Dad."
"...What? I didn't send you a wedding present..."
"Exactly, Dad. Thanks for the wedding present."
"You're not even married!"
"Goodbye, Dad." (Hangs up)
"Peter?..." (Hangs up slowly)

FOr the most part i find the whole this very realistic. Almost as if you took a slice out of someone's life. I like the quality of the way you used dialogue to protray the relationship between the two. From the begining it gives an inkling of nothing good coming of the conversation. |
