New Comic Book from Big Panda ACen 2004

Dear POs!

AS some of you might know already, my comics group, Panda Rage Press, is releasing our first all-new, all-original comic book at Anime Central 2004. Thought I'd just treat al of ya'all to a sneak-peek!

It's called Onward Bound: Deuces Wild and it's a fantasy western (or a western fantasy, depending on how you look at it), written and created by myself, and drawn by two pros. If you've read The Gunslinger or wondered what Record of Lodoss War would be like set in the psuedo-Wild West, check us out.

We've got two stories, this one's the first.

* Im a HUGE fantasy western fan - its such an underused genre'. I even played all the Wild Arms AND played all the way through Rising Zan. I wants to know how to procure my very own copy of Onward Bound being as I wont be within a thousand miles of ACEN when it occurs. Can you do business over the internet, or if someone at ACEN would pick me one up Ill pay handsomly Smile

this looks great! I too am a big Anime fantasy western fan. I'm also really really looking forward to Red Dead Revolver.

Daijaga, as you're into RPGs (tabeltop) I recommend the d20 supplement Spellslinger; it's right up your alley. Trust me.

You're right, fantasy westerns are under-represented. I'll admit though: Onward Bound took shape over about a year or so. When I first began it, it was more of a Steampunk idea with airships and steampowered cybernetics...but pardon the pun, I took the same concept and moved it...well, west.

When you think steampunk and fantasy, you usually conjure up images of knights and nobles, kings and queens...all of them very european in origin and feel.

Now, I figured, why try to establish a fantasy story situated in another version of pseudo-england? I live in America, I'm American, why not move the entire setting to a place called Eden, my version of industrial-age America.

After all, I wanted OB to be a romantic fantasy (like Dragonlance, not Fabio as a pirate) and in American literature, what's more romantic than the Wild West?
