I have no desire to see the movie, as I was the only one on the planet who didn't really enjoy the first one. Eddie Murphy was just annoying, it's like he's getting ADD as he gets older. To those of oyu who say "no, that's just Donkey's character" fine then, Donkey was annoying. As he was the main source of "laughs" I found myself yawning at the rest of the film. The little storybook parodies were cute, but I don't think I smiled through the whole film. I've heard that part 2 is better than one, and vice cersa. However, if Donkey is still the annoying chatterbox that he was in the first one, I'll pass, thanks.

**POSSIBLE SPOILER**
Donkey provides some laughs, but the director was smart not to over use him from the first movie. Aside from Donkey, there is a new character "Puss in Boots" who provides some sidekick antics, but the real humor in Shrek 2 is the adult kind. This movie is packed with innuendo and tounge in cheek so much that I have no idea how anyone under the age of 13 fully appriciates the movie. But if you leery, rent, much cheeper. |

First... Sorry Daijaga...
Shrek 2 is not by Pixar. It's by Dreamworks.
Pixar pretty much sticks to Disney.
Dispite that fact, This was a great movie. I have to say though, I did like the first one better. But Daijaga is right... Donkey and Pussin Boot are freakin funny as hell. |

Movie was Great... I actually saw it twice. (Well I get in free cause I work there... << >>) Quick note: 70% of people who saw this movie left and didn't see the extra ending with donkey. Not gonna say anything about it, but it was cute/funny ^^
I'd say it's about even with the first movie.
When the movie leaves theaters I get the little Pus in Boots cardboard cut out. ^____^ |

This movie was SO cute. As for Pixar? Well typically they do stick to Disney but they just ended their contracts with them and are working seperately. WOOOOO!
As for Dreamworks' animation. They haven't had too good a track record but I hope they keep on trucking. They've barely cusped each of their production costs with box office for their movies such as Antz, Spirit and Sinbad and actually have taken some losses such as Road to El Dorado (which I personally liked a BUNCH!). They've had good success and I hope this Shrek franchise keeps it up.
I grew up on fairy tales much like a lot of you I assume. And a lot of the pop culture references absolutely made me laugh out loud. To the point where sometimes I was the only one laughing. This movie was in the fashion of old Looney Tunes cartoons as well. Aimed a LOT at adults but enough endearing quality to hold children's attention. The comedy in it was priceless and the voice acting very fun. Especially Puss.
I appreciated this movie and never once felt the urge to shift in my seat. So therefore I give this movie 0 GMA's. (A very high ranking on my scale). |
