A friend of mine sent me some video clips in MKV format, something I had never heard of before. I do a quick Yahoo search and find out it's supposed to be some new container called Matroska.
I download the Matroska codecs and install them. Playing the files freeze my computer.
I look some more and find out there's some utility called Avi2vcd which would allow me to convert those MKV files into good old AVI. I try that. It makes either the progra crash or my computer freeze.
I've found so far no other way to play those fucking MKV files.
Insight on this matter would be very appreciated... |

I feel my way is best..But apparently you don't...I've always found that if I have a file my comp can't play in movie format Adobe Premiere some how sorts it out so try playing it in that..If you lack the program of the $450 to buy said program then you may wanna steal it. |

Haven't tried downloading this player yet, but apparently it has "native Matroska support". I don't have any mkv or ogm files to try it with anyway. You might wanna check it out though. If you do, post here and let me know if it works ...
