CNN.com wrote:
The U.S. Army has long lured recruits with the slogan "Be All You Can Be," but now soldiers and their families can receive plastic surgery, including breast enlargements, on the taxpayers' dime.

The New Yorker magazine reports in its July 26th edition that members of all four branches of the U.S. military can get face-lifts, breast enlargements, liposuction and nose jobs for free -- something the military says helps surgeons practice their skills.

"Anyone wearing a uniform is eligible," Dr. Bob Lyons, chief of plastic surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio told the magazine, which said soldiers needed the approval of their commanding officers to get the time off.

Between 2000 and 2003, military doctors performed 496 breast enlargements and 1,361 liposuction surgeries on soldiers and their dependents, the magazine said.

The magazine quoted an Army spokeswoman as saying, "the surgeons have to have someone to practice on."

Good news for people with a military uniform fetish I guess.

Yeah I can see your point lol. But I can't really see what practical practice a boob job would give a military surgeon.

Wouldn't having bigger boobs be a BAD thing if you're supposed to be in combat and stuff. Just seems like they'd get in the way...

speaking of military 'practice'

and seeing as how I am a military man

It's a pretty well known fact that in the military will allow dentists to do unnecessary Wisdom teeth removals so that their dentists can 'practice'

Now I am fine with practicing...but I think it's total crap to do any unnecessary surgical procedures

Isn't it a bit unnerving that what doctors do is called a "practice"?

What the fuck?
Might as well send in the homeless for target practice- the troops need some live practice...not against the homeless, just making a point- nor is that a statement insulting our men and women in uniform's marksmenship- I'm just sayin that hey, if we'll let people in service get that "Hollywood look" they've always wanted, why not just throw in some humans to give soldiers that "live practice" so they'll be ready!

You all do realize that when people get shot in the face or receive chemical burns the doctors like to be able to rebuild the human face and or body right?

The only thing I can say for the breast enlargements would be if they attacked Somalia with female ground troops the warlords followers tend to cut off female breasts as trophies...Not a good reason to offer breast enlargements but still a reason.
