I'm feeling pretty depressed lately. I've been lone for quite sometime, and I'm finding it harder to distract myself from that fact day to day. I have a friend who I feel I can confide in, but she has problems of her own. I think I'm ging to start venting through poetry again. It seemed to help last time, and people seem to appreciate other peoples problems when they're expressed in an artistic manner.

I feel for you man. I'm stuck in an almost relationship. We fell in love with eachother about 3 weeks ago but everyone knows she gets into relationships too quickly so she wants to take it slow. We're "friends with benefits" and she really hates it when I call her my gf even though we do everything that couples do. It's really starting to make me depressed because, despite what she tells me, it really feels like she just doesn't want to commit to me. Ever since she told me that she wanted to wait a while longer, we started slipping away from eachother. I gotta go, lightning's taking out my power. |

I will advise one more time on chicks. Ya want them, act like you don't need them. Be the alpha male, never let a woman dictate how you feel, never act like your settling for just one, even if you are. Learn the game fellas, it's a mind game.

And when you "pretend" to be a "player" and act like you're not settling for one when you really are, she will catch on, up and leave because she does not want a guy who is involved with more than one person...namely someone who is NOT her, regardless of whether you are or not. And when she does that, you WILL feel like an ass. Girls, especially the ones that ARE worth your time, are not into all this macho, "guy" BS.
And Rev, we're guys...we're not supposed to get women completely. But what I have found is that the better she is, the easier she is to understand. When you find someone who DOES make sense (or at least more than usual), hold on. What you see on TV is BS...they're not real people. |

You've got to be kidding me. What kind of shallow machismo is this? Jeebus, if you've got to put on some kind of an act just to attract women then it can only mean one of two things: You're after the wrong kind of women or you're just the wrong kind of man. Maybe both. Just be yourself. The best women will respond most strongly to that.

Grallik is actually part right, not about trying to play chicks though. And you guys are part right. Allot of girls won't go for the quite nice guy. I am not saying act like a dick or anything I always treat women with the utmost respect.
Initiating the relationship with a woman is 99.9999% of the battle. This is where is pays to be confident and have a sense of humor. After they get to know you that is when being a nice guy will really pay off. |

I'm just tired of getting the short end of the stick. My great sense of humor in conjuction with my niceness has resulted in one thing. Alot of hot female friends who are in constant relationships and love to talk to me about them. Gee thanks, as if I didn't feel alone enough.

You just described well over half, closer to all, of the males on PO. Even if I'm wrong, I remember a few people having the same problem, myself included. I have more female friends than guy friends all because I have a good sense of humor, I'm nice, I listen, being able to talk to and please a woman doesn't hurt either. Oh man does it kill me when they talk about their relationships. I especially hate conversations that go like this:
Girl: I feel so free now that I broke up with my bf, but I'm so lonely, I could have sex with any guy that's willing to bang me.
Me: -points to self- Hello?
Girl: HAHAHAH, no rob, we can't have sex.
Me: Why not?
Girl: -blank expression- Oooh, look at that hunk -points to random guy- |
