Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Great voice acting, excellent story, but the fog effect is horrendous and the replay value is nil. The lack of a map makes navigation a chore.
POD Speedzone - They destroyed POD. Completely. That, and some cars are only available online, which is now an impossibility.
Rez - The graphics are refreshing, the concept is very fun, and very addictive. Relies a lot on a "love it or hate it" factor. Single player only...
Resident Evil: Code Veronica - Voice acting is OK, graphics are great, seems I'm in for quite a ride.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis - The character graphics are an insult to the DC, but the story holds together and there's a lot to explore.
Speed Devils Online Racing - The controls were completely destroyed since the original Speed Busters game. Single player only. Since you can't go online, it's just repetitive arcade racing.
Sega GT: Homologation Special - Very addictive, graphics are superb but could still use some tweaking in crucial areas. Cars get duplicated a lot. Do I really want 14 Skylines that look and handle exactly the same?
Illbleed - Excellent concept, very frightening. Graphics are OK most of the time. Since traps are randomized, the game is extremely cheap-shot and relies on luck more than anything else.
Ikaruga - Excellent and simple gameplay, top-notch graphics and animation. Best when on 2-player...
Shadowman - Immerses the player into the story pretty well. Graphics are OK in environments but the characters look like fucking puppets. Voice acting is great, dialogue design is excellent with a bit of well-placed dry humor, but the movie sequences have sound bugs. The game has the uncanny ability to change my VMU icon, a thing I despise with a passion.
Bangai-O - Good back-to-basics arcade game with tight gameplay. But when everything's all said and done, the replay value drastically goes down. |

I absolutly loved Shadowman though, even with the cons you mentionned...graphics where great for a DC game and there's one of the creepiest level i've ever seen later in the game.
And yes you are in for quite a ride with Code Veronica, awesome game. |
