Yeah, I know...it's been out for quite some time, but here's what I think. Ever since I tried the demo on the PS2 Soul Calibur demo disk I was itching to get my hands on it. I hadn't heard to much about it, but the demo got me hooked. So I went to blockbuster the other day to try out a new game. They didn't have what I was looking for so I decided to finally pick up Kill Switch. Moments after I started the game I was disappointed. The main character just doesn't look right running around. He doesn't look like a real person....more like a G.I. Joe with limited articulation. I was only able to bring myself through the first stage, after that I was so dissapointed that I couldn't play any further. The game offered not much of a real challange. You can hide behind walls and debris to take cover from enemy fire. This makes the game way to easy. Why? Because you can aim at your target from your protected position. Just hide, line up the crosshairs, peek and kill. My last disapointment was the story....THERE ISN'T ONE! Apparently the main character has some experimental communication device in his head that lets him keep in touch with whoever it is running the show.....which isn't really revealed to the player. At the begining of the first stage you get dropped in enemy territory.

Then you kill a bunch of pansies untill you work your way into a room with no exit. I killed everyone I saw. When that was done I just heard a voice of some guy whining about how he doesn't want to die. It took me a moment to find the side room he was hiding in. Found him, shot him, stage over. Well....had the target not been a sissy and picked up a gun, it could have been a decent fire fight....but no, he just waits for you to kill him.

Package?? I didn't know I was after a package....maybe they should tell me these things!
Sorry excuse for a hero
"It's all here."
Stage end.....
Now I know this was probably way to long to simply say "This game sucks", but I feel like the length of my post helps drive that point home. This. Game. Sucks. |
