I played some of Robotech: Battlecry and Freedom Fighters. Now for a little review thus far
So far, out of the two, ive played Robotech more than Freedom fighters, mainly becuase i enjoy playing games using big robots, So i'll start with Robotech.
Robotech: Battlecry is fun. I remember watching the series a while ago when i was younger, and i have to say, i enjoyed watching the Veritech fighters, and i wished i could have gotten to play more robotech games. But as far as the game goes, its very good at giving you freedom of what to use, but at times, the situations at hand kinda predict what you need to use, like when your in a huge open space and there are fighters flying about, its kinda obvious that you use the fighter mode and go into dogfights, and when your in a cityscape, its best to use the guardian mode (half plane half battleoid) and battleoid modes, which make you much more maneuverable and much more devastating up close rather than from afar. Yet, there are also times when you need to utilize all three in tandem. You may be fighting baddies, for instance, and you need to get to another place FAST. You just change into the fighter mode, and just fly over there, and when you get back into the fray and drop a couple of heavy missiles, you go into Guradian mode to drop some more missles, and then go into battleoid mode to shoot down enemy missles and go into close combat tactics.
All in all, i like the game. It's fun, and holds my attention
Freedom fighters is a much different type of game. I got this game because i played Hitman2 and they were made by the same company, and the fact that ive wanted to play the game for a while. So it goes like this: Your in manhattan when the communists from the altered soviet union history invade and you are called upon to fight against them as the leader of a small rebel faction known as the freedom fighters
First comment, i like it, but i also like aiming and shooting the baddies, and its hard to do in this game, since the aiming is still off by multiple hairs. I mean, you DO shoot in that general direction, but i expect that if i aim at the head and fire, i'll hit them in the head, and not have the bullets go screaming past them, but alas, it does add more reality to the game, so i cant really complain quite too much. But the weapons are fun, i must say...and a good ol flamin bottle of the good stuff is always fun to chuck at your opponent and incinerate them from afar. Then, there is the team portion of the game. You are granted the ability to control multiple units by acquiring charisma points and recruiting people to help you. It adds a fun effect to the game, and makes it much more team oriented, and puts you in a fun commander type role.
Ok...im done talking, so i just felt like giving these little tidbits to you guys. Adios |
