RIP Victor Khokhlan..

I don't know if any of you living in North Georgia heard about the accident last night, involving some teens who were drag racing.. One of the victims was my friend Vitaly (Victor) Khokhlan. From what Ive heard, he died at the scene of the accident. I wanted to put this up as a reminder to all of us what harm can come from even a single bad choice. I had two classes with V, and saw him yesterday evening.. and this morning he is dead. It is unbelievable that someone can just be there one day, and gone the next. I was happy to know Victor, he wasn't the best student, but he lived every day as if it were his last, and made the best of every moment. I am saddened that he was taken away from us at such a young age, but I try to find some comfort in his being at peace in a better place.

I'm glad he had such an outlook on life, I am sure his last breath was a sight of relief. May he rest in peace.

Its good to see youth with that kind of energy, but saddening to see it pass back into the circle of life. May he carry his energy on into his next life.

Life and Death and hard to deal with sometimes...they're wierd and mysterious in their workings...I'm glad that we was such an outgoing person, but I'm very sorry for your loss...

Thank you all.. I've been doing a lot of writing over the weekend. I dont know whether to go to his memorial service tomorrow or just remember him from the last day I saw him. Thank you for your offer Keiji, I assume I will be alright, but if I get hit hard with anything, Ill be sure to come to you.

Part of me would rather just remember him in a positive light, thinking back to my last day sitting in class and cracking jokes with him. >> Meanwhile my center-of-attention friend who barely knew Vitaly has spent the weekend talking with his friends about how saddened he is "by his dear friend's untimely departure" and how much he needs to make sure he can go to the memorial service..
