Actually, I don't see it as a "Parody" of Johnny Quest. I see it as Johnny Quest grown-up.
Think about it, Dr. Ventures dad was a scientist that took him on Adventures. And now Dr. Venture is AKA Rusty has grown up resenting his father figure and is a closet case Homosexual that Only wants Brock Samson the image of his true father figure that was the body-guard (Who's name I can't remember) from Johnny Quest.
Granted Rusty still likes the ladies but he has a thing for Brock.
Now Rusty has two kids from a failed marriage (Or dead wife...Dunno) who love adventure because their father kept them cooped up in the lab because he didn't want to expose them to the outside world like he was. But Rusty hates adventure and loathes his childrens drive to go on them.

His name was Race Bannon. Actually, in one of the episodes of the Venture Bros., Race Bannon dies.

I was also typing that at 1:30 in the morning...half asleep, and forcing myself to stay awake to do homework and dreading having to wake up this morning at 6:45. I'm surprised that it didn't come out worse than it did. So, yet again, I sidestep the virus. |

I hope this series continues. I've noticed with Toonami that Things I actually start to enjoy are either repeated so much that it becomes stoopid or they just give up.
Case in point, "Justice League Unlimited" They have like what 6 episodes?
And the guy who does Brocks voice REALLY should have been the dad in "The Incredibles" He's the perfect voice for any strong male hero type role that lacks wits. IE the Tick (Who he was) |
