Well it came out in Japan and here are a few things I have learned.
700+ cars
50+ tracks
209 page instruction manual (ummm wow!)
6 players over Lan
A-spec racing (what we are used to)
B-spec racing (you are the manager and instruct your driver what to do)
Pull your cash from GT3
Pull your licenses from GT4 Prologue
Take photos and save them
Hook up a USB Printer and print out your photos
GT Force and GT Pro Force (steering wheel) Support
Dolby Pro Logic II sound
And the part I am most excited about (This is a change for me b/c I'm not "all about the graphics")
Gamespot wrote: | There's not much more to be said about the graphics in GT4 beyond the fact that they make the racer the "best-looking PS2 game ever." For those that require a bit more enlightening, we'll say that GT4 is the best-looking racer on the PS2 and will likely remain so until the hardware bows out to make room for its successor. The cars and environments are polygon-rich masterpieces that balance excellent art direction with the technical prowess that has ensured every installment in the GT franchise is a stunner. Polyphony has managed to wrest an even greater level of detail out of the hardware than its predecessor, which has resulted in a near photorealistic appearance for the visuals while maintaining the franchise's trademark 60 frames per second. What makes this all such an impressive achievement is that Polyphony has managed to include 480p and 1080i support, which is no easy task considering how well the game looks and runs. |
That's right folks! The first game to be available in 1080i (High Def). This will make the game mop the floor with Forza when it comes out (like it needed the graphics to do that).
With the increased resolution and 60 frames/sec, prepare to see Forza Delayed yet again so they can catch up.
Well, this is going to be great, and well worth the wait I think. I'm so looking forward to this. |

Yeah, it definately would. As it stands right now, it went from a DEFINATE pickup to a probably not picked up game on my radar. I dont care how good the visuals and everything else is, without online support it doesn't matter how good it is. BFD about the LAN you've been able to do that silly and totally worthless function on tons of games, and pleaze do write me and tell me of the numerous times you've actually USED the LAN feature on any game except HALO, 2x tops, LAN for consoles is too big of a hassle, like anyone wants to lug around TV's...............nah, I think I'll snooze on this and before they pulled the online, I was actually looking forward to a racing game. pfft |

Well none of the others are online and I have every entry in the series. I'm just looking forward to this game, it's supposed to use just about everything the PS2 has to offer. |

Whatever happened to the good old days where you played a video game for you? Seriously, I probably wont even use the online support even if there is one, I wanna play it for the sheer fact that the game is gonna make me wet myself. And dammit they're just fun to play. |
