So EA continues to move toward taking over the world... the sports world.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/01/17/news_6116473.html
First the NFL, then Ubisoft, then AFL, now ESPN
What is this world coming to!?!?!
You know what, I don't play sports games so this has very little affect on me.
But for those of you that do, EA seems like they are going to be the only ones with any chance of surviving in the Sports Game Genre. I hope they don't get lazy on you guys and start delivering pure crap just because they are the only ones in the genre. |

No doubt that is what they'll do. It seems to me like they want to be the only choice for sports games for fifteen years. Fifteen years of spoon-feeding the sports gaming community what EA wants out of games. I can only see things going downhill from here. |

Wow, the NFL deal was a major kick in the nuts to Visual Concepts and Sega. Now EA just castrated 'em! |

It's okay. Nintendo will be gone shortly as well. So you will only have the two major companies left - Sony vs Microsoft. It's really no different IMO.
It's happening so no point in having 600 threads on how you don't like EA and what they are doing. >_> |

Does anyone know where the head office for EA is located? I think I would like to publish that info on some random Al-Queda BB along with some misinformation about how they use their funds to combat muslims. F*$^ you EA, F*$^ you in your F*$^ing A$$3$. And F*$^ you too ESPN for being a whore. Although, what else could they do. I think the best thing that could happen to the world is if all the "main guys" from EA all died on a plane together, or better yet, simply crashlanded in the Sahara somewhere and couldn't move, and the sun slowly baked the flesh on their bones whilst vultures and other scavengers sloooooooooooooooowly ate them. F*$^ing bastards. |

All of you aren't thinking this through all the way, you must analyze.
They signed a deal of exclusitivity with the NFL for the next 5 years or whatever. And for 15 years with ESPN, after the end of next years game releases by Sega and Visual Concepts.
So the only thing thats guaranteed is the NFL monopoly but the NBA MLB and NHL are all still open, Sega just can't use the ESPN name ne more which could be a bad loss.
The cool thing is that they could be smart, and create a game like mutant league football(thatd be awesome in 3d) or something in that nature. Or especially with the support for Hard Drives on the Xbox and the PS2. A system where its more community based football game, making for my creativity and dynamics. making your own rules teams etc...it could be a cash cow |

Makes no difference to me o_O People come out to buy crappy Madden games in hordes. This just regains that small group of like, maybe 2 or 3 people that bought ESPN instead of Madden? I've noticed moth bought both o_O
Who needs the NFL anyway, you can have football without it. Silly peoples. |
