what the fuck! my dorm's damn fire alarm went off at 1:40 am, and i just got back in the building at 2. oh yeah, i have class in 6 hours as well. i wouldn't be so pissed, except the alarm also randomly went off at 3 am saturday night!! is there an electrician in the house? i'll pay for you to come to VA and fix the alarm so that maybe i can get a decent night's sleep for once in my life! grrrrr

Sometimes those things happen. It can be people who think having some fun involves making the entire dormitory troop out in the cold for an hour or so while everything gets checked out.
At times, though, it is necessary - like when someone thought that burning one of the paper towel dispensers was a good idea of fun. |

My dorm building is SOOOO old that the darn alarm goes off for anything!!! Last year we would have constant fire alarms and sometimes even several in the middle of the night!! Darn things!!! Usually ours goes off because we had a power shortage, which usually seems to happen during a bad storm or something!! grrrrr. Well at least I'm an RA and can stay either near or in the building!! hehe  |

yep, that's where i am, although i'm actually from connecticut
we had a decent dorm power outage a little over a year ago, when one of the hurricanes hit us. probably the worst parts about it were that without electricity, a) i had to shower with a flashlight and b) the water was freezing
last night, even the RAs were pissed off. the fire department had to come and check the whole building out, and nobody knew what was going on
ah the joys of dorm life

I can empathize with both the fire alarm, we've had one everyday this week! I'm getting tired of it. It happened again this week that someone pulled the alarm while I'm taking a shower.....I decided to risk the fire. |
