Especiall for Trekkies like me. It's sad that I love the Star Trek franchise so much... but don't own any of the games.
I hope some people from Viacom read this article and get the picture.
I would love to see a "Star Trek" equivilant to KOTOR like they said in this article.
Especially since between Star Trek and Star Wars (although I love them both) Star Trek is the more realistic approach to the future. |

You know, Star Trek was never really an action oriented series. Stop, ye trekkies, desist already before you defend your beloved federation, but Im talkign about action action. Star Trek was always more about shakey political scenes, trade routes, air space, and freaky deep space mysteries than bad ass action shiat like light sabers, the force, or blasters. Jaba the hut was a cool badguy than Khan, Boba Fett is a cooler ass kicker than Warf, and Yoda could kick Q's pretty face across 3 galaxies. Phasers suck, theres nothing there to really make a good video game about. |

Did you ever see "ST: First Contact"
When all the federation ships took on that borg cube! Hell yeah. That's freakin sweet.
And have you ever seen DS9. Have you ever seen the Defiant in action. That is one bad ass little ship that would probably take out any SW ship that came it's way. (minus star destroyers maybe)
Fact is they are both good, just different. We just need to see a good game on the Star Trek end. |

Which is obvious, since we all know Star Wars doesn't take place in the future 
Personally, I'd rather people just make more original games. I'm tired of lisences and ports. |

ZINGAH!  Nice one, Cobbi.
You know, I'm with Dai on this one. At it's core, I don't think Star Trek is action oriented. From the beginning, it's focus has been more political and social issues over anything. Granted, it's had it's moments, but it's never done well when it's the focus. |

I have to Agree, I dont think Star Trek would make much of an RPG. I just don't see how it could be done. |

I'm with shino. The content is there, they just need to find someone competent to make a good game out of it. ST: NG and DS9 would probably be the best choices. Defiant would kick the Falcon's ass across 10 galaxies.... and I'm sorry but Q is ferior. Dont get me wrong... Yoda kicks ass too, but not Q's ass.
What we need is Lucas Arts to make a Star Trek game.... but we all know that isnt going to happen. |

There you go. It is true. Yoda could kick the ass of anyone in Star Trek, except Q. It just wouldn't happen. Sorry. I hate Q with a passion, but he would kill Yoda.
And the Defiant... it would kick the ass of any Star Wars ship. As I said before. The Defiant has the menuverability of a fighter, and the shields and weapons of a Galaxy Class Cruiser... aka the Enterprise in Next Gen.
Bring on the game where the Defiant takes on everyone!
I will disagree with Faye on one thing... don't let Lucas Arts do it. Most of the games they make in house suck ass. Who did KOTOR... Bioware or something... let them do it. |
