I dont know whether to be happy or mad...

I just finished taking an online quiz on John Stuart Mill's "Utilitarianism."

Now...im quite angered at Mr. Mill, due to the fact that he wrote such a dense field of words to run through, it is quite similar to running through a thick patch of rose bushes that are all around you. Now...for those of you who dont know..despite my love for writing, i hate reading...and this was no exception, despite the fact that i like philosophy, especially ethics.

Now, here is where the twist comes in. Im done, ive gone through the journey, and ive come out of it with a greater understanding of the human belief system, which i found is unique to the utilitarian principle. Now, that makes me very happy in my non-stop persuit of these types of things.

So im not sure if should be mad, or happy *explodes*

I think I'd be happy if I were you.

I mean I too dislike reading, but after having gone through such a ''thick patch of rose bushes'', I'd feel content about the overwhelming parfum that such amount of roses must have brought you, rather then feeling cursed for the scraches the torns did to you.

For the cursing you may have done to it while you were reading it, the reward of understanding trumps the annoyance of learning.

That is, unless you found it to be a complete waste of time. Then you take the learning and shrug of the wasted time.

Maybe you shouldn't feel either. Feel enlightened, you just underwent an ardous task that to you was horrible enough you compared it to running through a thick patch of rose bushes, which would hurt like crap, and came out for the better.
