MAN... stop blaming the stupidity of teenagers and their parents on game companies and retailers...
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/02/16/news_6118699.html
I'm sick of hearing of people getting sued b/c of the stupid rating system that isn't even law yet. There is not yet a law that says you HAVE TO check their ID. It's suggested. The parents should know what their kids are buying.
Damn lay off people.
Take-two is now being sued for GTA3... A GAME THAT CAME OUT 4 YEARS AGO! Not only that, but Walmart and Gamestop are being sued to for selling the games to teens under 18!
Hey... it's not law yet that I know of (correct me if I'm wrong).
Where the hell are the parents.
It's not the game companies fault that the kids are stupid!
It's not the game retailers fault that the kids are stupid!
I want to sue the parents for being bad parents and not knowing what their kids are doing.
Man I'm sick of this crap!

Seriously. Parents just buy whatever makes junior happy then they go back and go OMGEVIL! I give props to the parents who actually care enough to monitor what their kids buy. |

I just hate how poeple try to shift the blame. It wasn't his fault, it's object a or person b who made them do this. Morons.
I like how they sued Sony to for making the console. *insert rude language*s |

When are people going to sue All major Religions. Let me do a nice list for you of condoned Religious acts of violence:
1. Crusades
2. Spanish Conquistadors (Genocided lands they came to in the name of God)
3. Deuteronomy chapter 13 tells us that anyone who tempts you to worship any god other than the Christian god should be put to death
4. 2 Kings chapter 17 relates a fable about how the Christian god sent lions to murder an undisclosed number of people in Samaria, not because they were worshipping other gods, but because they were ignorant of which god they were supposed to worship and how they were supposed to worship him
5. 1 Samuel chapter 18 tells us the story of David, who, with god's help (as indicated by verse 28 ), murdered 200 men and cut off their foreskins so that he could become the king's son-in-law.
6. Numbers chapter 1, verse 51: if a stranger interferes with a religious ceremony (by approaching the tabernacle), it is acceptable to put them to death.
7. Ezekial chapter 9 relates a fable wherein the Christian god ordered his followers to enter Jerusalem and murder anyone who did not have a mark on his forehead
8. Psalms chapter 137, verse 9: in reference to an enemy: "Happy shall be he who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!" Here we see the Christian bible being used to condone violence not merely against one's enemies, but against their children as well, for no other reason than that they are related to your enemy.
9. Koran IX.5: "... slay the idolaters wherever you find them ..."
10. Koran IV.56 tells us that non-believers are to be set ablaze until their skin is thoroughly burned.
11. Koran V.51 tells believers not to befriend Christians or Jews. Most religions attempt to isolate believers from non-believers, all the better to instill a sense of fear and/or hatred of them. Koran IV.144 reiterates this point, and Koran III.28 says it again.
12. Koran IX.123 instructs believers to fight against the non-believers.
13. Koran IX.28 tells us that idolators are "unclean", a handy generalization
that allows you to hold all non-believers in the same level of contempt.
14. Koran VIII.12-13 tells us that non-believers should have their heads and fingertips cut off. the stated reason is "because they acted adversely to Allah and His Apostle" by not believing.
15. Koran IX.38-39 chastises believers who refuse to go to war when called upon to do so.
I'm not up on Jeudism (Sp?) but as far as I know it's just the Tora or more to the point the Christian bible BEFORE Christ. IE Moses, burning bushes, ten commandements, etc.
The Mormon Bible is basically a westernized version of the Catholic faith.
Budism, Hindu-ism, and that Japanese religion I can't remember are pretty much anti-violence but for some reason aren't considered "Major" religions even though there are about 700 million Hindu's.
So My question is to everyone out there, when are we going to start suing Churches? |

i could understand games retailers getting sued over here for selling a gta game for somebody under the age of 18 as they do carry an 18 BBFC rating, which is a legal rating that usually appears on films, but has appeared on a handful of games too, i think the first one was the original Resident Evil, not sure. but if a game only carries a "reccomended" rating then theres nothing the parents can do about it being sold to someone who could be irresponsible |

ESRB ratings are voluntary standards adopted just so that laws wouldn't be. There may be store policies regarding the purchasing of games, but if the game was not purchased at oen of their stores, they can't be held responsible.
Sounds more like this person had a deficiency of morals or perhaps an inability to ground himself in the accepted reality. Either way, about the only thing the video game can be accused of is exacerbating that which was already there. Even then, it's not the video game's fault - it's the buyer's. |

oi...another dumb sueing, due to the fact that parents dont know how to teach their kids the difference between fantasy and reality.
Further, GAAZ, while very interestingly put, is very right. The only thing though is that GTA probably, to a parents eyes, gives instant gratification by showing you the actual murdering right there on screen...but for goodness sake, being able to imagine someone casting children aside on a rock is in my book, 10fold worse.
Man...and i thought senator lieberman was bad enough...LOVE YOUR KIDS AND TEACH THEM THE DIFFERENCES OF REALTY! *explodes* |

I think we should do an online petition to have lawmakers make an immunity to video game/movie companies becuase of people doing things that are "in the game/movie" |
