It finally happened...after being open for almost a hundred years, Owasippe Boy Scout Reservation has been sold.
This is a reservation that has literally been home number 2 for me for 6-7 years. I worked there as a Paramedic and taught young boys and girls how to ride horses for those years. I met a dozen friends including my best friend Nikki there. Basically it is a part of me and I just lost it in a flash of a few million dollars. It hurts me alot to see it go but then I think, I've only been there 7 years, imagine the dynasties and families that have spent decades there

Aww, dude that's gotta stink. All those memories, gone for a few mil, but then again you still have the memories. They can't take that away from you. |

awww Excel!!! you'll be ok!
I sort of felt the same way when the Tower Records closed near me. I know it's not nearly the same thing as your story, but it meant a lot to us. We ALWAYS hung out there and some of us in the group even worked there!! It was just like that movie Empire Records! We were all very saddened when it closed. It was the purpose of our existence of teenage years!!!
anyways, we miss it too, but we have all the memories!  |

hey, if it makes you feel better
When we were living in WEstport, there was a little area of trees right across the street of us where I used to play with my friends. Well, one day, a construction truck demolished those trees, and put up a FRIGGEN HUGE HOUSE that was sold for close to a million. Lots of memories were hurt right then and there, but hey, I got over it, and we eventually moved.
But yes...it does hurt. |
