never had problems with either one of my DC
Xbox had a bad AV set
Playstation 2 I had since the beginning. Initial load of game would take a little longer than normal and MGS3 skipped a little. So I sent it back to Sony to get a free repair since it was a first run system. |

PS2 > Xbox
Ps2's dont overheat if you keep them in a properly ventilated area, and short of having the lens replaced on my by Sony, for free, there have never been any other problems. 
Edit: ACK!!! after reading over this post I realized I put "Insulated" where I ment "Ventilated". Sorry, my Dyslexia got the better of me. |

was probably the PAL dc's that had technical issues.
the laser went on 2 of mine, the controller ports went on another and another just wouldnt turn on anymore!!
i know a few PAL gamers that had probles with the laer on thir DC's thatthy rctfied by tipping the console upside down |

I never owned a DC, but everyone I ever talked to said their big problems were the controller ports going out. |

Speaking of overheat when the X-box was first released the internal fans would actually short out causing the processor to heat to the point of melting the MB. |
