Ok, I am going on record right now as saying that altho Mt Dew is what all other soft drinks want to grow up to be there was very little reason to create Code Red and just as little reason for Live Wire. Besides the fact that neither tastes the least bit like REAL Dew, neither of them even tastes good. Plus if they wanted to make new sodas why not just make them? I know, they wanted to ride the Mt Dew name to ensure some sales (it got me to try both. yuck) but shouldn't quality step up somewhere?

Thank God Live Wire is only a "Summer 2003" thing (or so the bottle says).

In a related note, what's with the dumbass 17.9 oz bottles of Dew? Half liter bottles? There are 16 and 20 ouncers now, did we have to go the marketing route and make a middle ground? What's next, 18.64957832 oz bottles for the people who think 20 is too much yet 17.9 is too little?

Brains take too many vacations nowadays.

I don't think that Code Red is that bad. I think it just tastes like cherry flavored Dew. The problem is that ANYTHING artficially cherry-flavored usually ends up tasting like cough-medicine, and Code Red is no different. I really don't see why some people make such a big deal out of it. I haven't tried Live Wire yet, but I'm curious, and I think I'll try to pick some up tomorrow.

But I'm not expecting much. There is nothing quite like a cold, REGULAR, Mt. Dew. Nothing beats the original...

meh...I definitely agree with Razer, and I'm also a little bit aggravated by the way Pepsi is doing this with all their drinks. Dr. Pepper Red Fusion. Pepsi Blue. And so on. I'll bet they'll be coming out with Sierra Mist Purple Nurple soon enough. It just annoys me. I mean, in my opinion every single one of thim tastes like straight sugar water, and it was specifically made to appeal to kids who are too stupid to realize it's really not much different from the original. They just go "Look, Mommy, a new flavor of [insert name here]! Can I have some? Pleeeeeze!?" And the foolish, uncaring parents go and buy the crap just so the stupid kid will shut up. That is probably the biggest problem with the world today. Parents who just don't care. More than half of the people I know have parents who not only let them have almost anything they want, but also don't care if they get into things ilke drugs, cigarettes, sex, alcohol, and so on and so forth. The government really needs to establish a set age, or establish a stantardized test to allow people to have kids, because the more people who go about blindly f***ing anything in sight, the more uncaring parents we're going to have, who will spawn yet more little breeders, who will become uncaring parents, and so on...

I'm sorry if I offended anyone. This subject just really pisses me off sometimes.

Pepsi Blue isn't that bad, it's the aftertaste actually since the damn stuff does taste like (stale) sugar water. And yes, I bought it for my son...but he actually liked it. LOL
I like Dr. Pepper too much to risk Red Fusion destroying my dreams.

Well, on my way to see Matrix with a frozen Mt. Dew (that will be thawed by the time I get there with this New Mexico weather). Tho today looks like rain (I pray, I pray, I pray, I pray, I pray, I pray)

Yuk! Pepsi blue was NASTY when I tried it. I don't see how anyone can like that stuff. The problem that I see with people giving it to their kids is that its like giving high-octane rocket fuel to them. I worked at a summer camp last year, and when one of the most hyper kids brought in a bottle of Pepsi Blue, I panicked (sp?). Not good to give to kids who already have ADD. Dr. Pepper Red Fusion is nasty, so don't worry Razer, you're not missing anything. Plus, how can you possible try to modify Dr. Pepper? It's one of the best sodas of all time, in my opinion.

The only redone Pepsi product that's actually pretty good, in my opinion, is the new 7up Flip. Its caffeinated 7up, but its like radioactive green, and has a citrusy taste. It's not too bad.

I think the reason Pepsi does all of this with their products is because they're supposed to be the cooler, more modern, and more "extreme" soda company, as opposed to the old fashioned Coca-Cola. They try to come out with "cool" new products that appeal to a younger crowd so that they can keep their image. But while they waste their time with Pepsi Blue and Code Red, Coke comes out with far superior products, like Vanilla Coke (absolutely heavenly) and Tropical Sprite Remix (great stuff also!). I'll take Coke over Pepsi any day...

hehe, just dont let rightey get a hold of any Pepsi blue

Personaly, i like all soda, except Moxy (ming can tell you about that one) I like pepsi blue, i like code red, i like dem all. Now you want to try some good soda, though, you should get some imported Irn Bru...that stuff is the SHIZNITCH!!! not only that, but the stuff also gives you a buzz within 10 seconds of drinking, because its second biggest ingredient in the soda is sugar...which is the reason why they dont sell it in the USA, and you have to get it imported from Scotland Very Happy

that is all Hmmm
