I liked the tune, and your verses fit it quite well. Although it would take the right kind of male voice to really get that song to sound what I would consider right.

Well, in my conceit, I tried to imagine my own voice signing it, and I realized that if it tracked to the original, I don't have the range for it. But even now, as I've looked over it, I can see some harmonics or octaves weaving their way into it. Plus, I could feel some personal things coming from it. So I imagined a male voice. Possibly with something that bordered death-metal screaming... it's not quite the light piece that the original is, in my head.

I Therin's writing habits were at all predictable, he'd have done the smart thing and created a thread in which to place all of the crappy songs he feels compelled to write. But they aren't. So, instead, he finds himself here, talking in the third person, and politely asking for a renaming of this particular thread, from "Where?" to "Therin's Songstravaganza"

*shrug* It's crap compared to my other two, but I wrote it anyway. Feel free to shred it into little tiny pieces with critique if you want. I'm always looking for ways to get better ^_^

Glad to know I had a decent ear for the first piece. Now I'll turn my attention to the second.

This sounded kind of prog-rock to me, something that you might see Dream Theater playing, on the first pass. But on a second pass, I tried to make it resolve with the dark tone of the lyrics, and an orchestral feel came out of it. Neither of those felt right, though, so on the third pass, it came out as a light pop-rock sort of sound. But this one's a vocalist-heavy track. the instrumentation behind it wouldn't be much and would be pretty simple.

The lyrics strike close to home, Therin. I have days like those. Perhaps not involving girls or women, but the kids of days where you contemplate like that.
