But it does apply. You can't just pick some topics that are descriminating and others that aren't. That's not fair. And since we're talking about fair, it is important to blanket the whole of the nation with equal rights.

To each situation its own call of judgement. For instance, the fireman/McD's thing. You have to "discriminate" on intelligence, but it's done in a manner that is all fair and good. You give a test to the guy. There are those who have studied and prepared for the test, and when we see their answers to the test, we'll know they have done their homework and have the required knowledge and competence for the job, unlike the one who didn't do preparation - anyways, that's one example among many. The point is that not all situations are exactly the same; but, I know where you're coming from so we're OK.

My other question is since Shurikane lives in Canada, how does this affect her? I never understood why people from other nations gave that much care about other countries. Do I feel sorry for Israel for being massacered everyday, but it really doesn't effect me. I'd really like to know because I don't understand that mentallity.

It's hard not to bump into an American on the Intarweb. Razz I'm bound to eventually discuss on things that don't directly concern me. The same would happen if I bumped into a Belgian, or an Israeli, or a Swedish or whatever other nationality. Sooner or later, the guy and I will end up talking about stuff relating to his country, and my own too. Thus, since PO is full of the gentlemen that live in Amewica, well... Wink

Either way - deep down inside, all of us want the whole world to agree with us.

I've yet to discuss politics with Shuri. I think if and when we talk it goes something like,

Me: Man, Is it ever warm here.
Shuri: *Breaks off icicle on nose* Shut up
Me: I think I'll go do some Sunbathing or maybe fishing.
Shuri: I hate you.

Note: THis conversation has never happened...Yet.

Honetly I try not to discuss politics of other countries. Why? I don't have a clue about them. Don't want to know. Foriegn Policy is difficult enough to understand for out country yet alone any others. So in the interest of International Relations Salut!

Funny that all those measures, "they" do it because they truly feel it's "for everyone's good."

Why does it always have to be about religion and sexual preferrance. Honestly I'm to the point were if it doesn't affect me directly, I don't care. And since Gay is the Minority, and will continue to stay so, and I'm in the majority and what I feel is right gets passed...I honestly couldn't give a rats ass about anything else.

I agree with Graklic, but tere should be a balance, i mean, granted i am one of the evangelical types (not homophobic, i'm just livin' the love) but i still think there should be some balance. The governemt shouldn't allow tyraniy of the majority, nor should it pander to the minority.
