So, yeah. Someone gave me this game for Christmas because she found out too late the thing was rated R and she was supposed to give it to her 10 year old son.
Locate private server, create account, log onto private server.
After 10 minutes, I closed the game, uninstalled it, and the box became a dust collector on my desk.
Someone please tell me what makes this game so popular...?  |

Are you talking about Ultima Online or some other UO?
Cause if it's Ultima I have no idea why it would be rated R.
There's no blood and even has a profanity filter. |

Go figure, my copy says it's for aged 16 and over. And yes, it's Ultima Online. Third Dawn to be exact. |

Well, the game was good when it first came out and was really the only game on the market that allowed you to create items you wanted as well as upgrade your character the way you felt fit due to a learning engine thingy.
Plus you could buy your own house in the world and decorate it as you feel fit.
The game was expansive and there was always stuff to do.
Only major flaw is that it didn't really have too many quests and the ones it did have weren't attuned or could only be accquired when you had a chance to complete said quest. IE Person playing for 30 minutes could get the same quests as someone playing for 5 years. |
