Anime Faces of Death

Greetings! This is Axel, PO newbie.

Just for the sake of novetly (and because I like getting responses to my messages) I decided to start a little topic of my own.

What would you say is your favorite death scene in any anime?

My favorite was from Yu Yu Hakuso, when Hiei fought Makintaro in the semi-finals of the Dark Tournament. As Juri gives the signal, Hiei draws his sword, ready for battle.

Makintaro : "C'mon! Just take your best shot!"

Hiei : "Fool. I already have."(holds up Makintaro's severd arm.)

My thought at this point was "Insert Monty Python quote here"

Hiei prepares to leave, and a pissed-off Makintaro gives chase. Makintaro appears to have sliced Hiei in half, but Hiei vanishes, then reappears standing on Makintaro's back.

"Your eyes are too slow. Too bad."

Sword right through the gullet, Makintaro dead, fight over, no skin off Hiei's nose.

Well, that's just my fave scene. Let me know what yours are!

Best anime death in my oppinion...

Oh wait...

Would have to be Takuto from Full Moon wo Sagashite.

It took episode after episode for the inevitable to arrive and it was so beautiful and sad when it happened. And while he did get to return in the end, it was a really heart string pulling moment that arrive. Because it is good, I'll just leave it at that but as almost anyone I've met who's seen it, it is really worth getting your hands on to see.

I don't really have one, but if I had to pick I would say the hokage fight in Naruto. He died for his...country I guess.
