Comic Book Film Watch

Originally I was going to make a thread to Ghost Rider but what with Fantastic Four coming out and Elektra just came out i figure why not just a general Comic Book Movie thread?

In any case. The trend of releasing comic book films has gone on for a long time but it seems recently that there's been a surge in the number of comic book films. To my knowledge on the horizon there is Batman Begins, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Superman, and another Punisher movie coming out. Batman begins seems interesting. It looks like a revamp of the series which is good because honestly i hated the Clooney movies (even though I like him as an actor). I'm not quite sure on my feelings on it atm because from watching the trailer i didn't really like Christian Bale's (Actor who plays Batman in the new one) voice as Batman :/

Fantastic Four. Was never really much of F4 fan. The Thing looks really bad. Jessica Alba is invisible woman. Forget who's Johnny Storm and Reed Richards. Probably gonna suck, but who knows? They might pull it off

Ghost Rider. Definitly an interesting character. Another one of the lesser known Marvel heroes. I mean everyone's heard of him, not very familiar though. I'm a marvel freak and I don't know too much about him myself. Something along the lines of being bound to some demon but something wrong so he can control the demon's powers and becomes Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider is supposed to the spirit of vengeance manifest or something like that I think. Nicholas Cage plays Ghost Rider. Could be good.

Superman. Honestly I never really liked Superman. At all. I thought he was one of the most overpowered characters ever. And then he gets beaten up by Batman...a rich guy with no powers whatsoever. Blah...

Punisher. Despite the mediocre ticket sales of the first one, the DVD sales were insane. It did VERY well on DVD. *shrug* I loved the first movie (though I love the comic books far more than the movie). In any case there's a second coming out. This next one is supposed to be darker and have more Punishing action. The first had a lot of setup which I didn't mind but I guess reviewers expected Frank to go shwarzenegger on them from the start I guess :/ Anyway the second movie is rumored to star Jigsaw as the main villain. John Saint survived a claymore attack by The Punisher and his face was horribly scarred (at least in the comic books this is how it happened although I don't remember if Jigsaw's name was John Saint in the comics). Anyway for those who have seen the first movie the Saint family is the one that killed Frank's family. John Saint was one of the Saint sons...hmm..... Interesting.

So yea. Post here if you've got any new information on upcoming or recently released Comic Book films
