Beware the pills ladies. While they will 'level' you out, your jacking with your hormones. Your body will eventually level itself out if given time. Starting BC too soon can have worse consequences later. Just a research thought. |

I'm pretty lucky. I don't really PMS much. I don't really get grouchy, though I sometimes do get bad cramps. I just go to bed when I have bad cramps.

The only warning I can think of is that BC is great for fixing the PMs problems but the AMA has studies showing that sometimes it can not change it or even make it worse. Also when you do decide to have children make sure you are off for at least one cycle before you try. |

For me, personally, it's territory I'm hesitant to continually persue (used BC briefly) as I do want to have children some day and don't wish to meddle in the natural ways it was intended. I'll deal with the pain and the emotions (which only build really badly maybe 1-2 times annually) to have the piece of mind to know I didn't muck up my plumbing. |

We have a history of PMS in my family, my mother was lucky enough not to get but i wasn't =/. In my case i get terrbile cramps that last all day for about 5 days and i lose a LOT of blood. I have PMS to think for my low blood count.
I find that peperment tea, hot water bottles, and coco -in all it's fourms- helps me the most. I had PMS last on my b-day and it was pure hell >_<
I remeber when i first got my period i used to pass out a lot, i went to the doctor a few times for it. And maybe once every few months i get a long ass period that lasts about 2 weeks. Not a good thing mind you X_X
My mood is usualy very quite and that's b/c the pain is so great i can't think to do anything else. Yeah so i stay off my feet durning thoes days and pray for something to keep my mind off it. |
