I know you've already gone and stuff, but hopefully you'll read it when you get back....
I know you're going to do AWESOME in the AF! The AF is the BEST branch of the military and the cutest of course!!! hehe. I love those men in their flight suits!!! hehe. PS. send me pics.....I didn't say that.

Lemme give you all some insight as to what is probably happening right now. Early (very early) ths AM he probably arrived at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. From their he meets his firs MTI (Military Training Instructor) who will inform his bus that they all have 1 minute to exit the bus. Then he'll be have sat on a slab of cement in front of the processing center. He'll probably be their for about4-7 hours depending. From their he will go get his first meal in many hours and sleep for a few remaining hours of the day.

Then he will be woken up my OJT's. This is a horrific sight because OJT's are the recruits in Week 6 who are about to leave and get to take out all of their frustrations on him and his wingmen. They'll wake him up by yelling and throwing stuff. Then he will be corralled and have probably 2-2.5 minutes to shower, less time to brush his teeth and put on clothes before breakfast. He'll stand in a line outside of the chow hall and be called in. From their he will stand, facing the chow line and is not allowed to talk or even look at other people. To tell the chow line workes what you want, you have to point at the item. Once you get one item, you shuffle sideways to the next area. From their you'll be told what table to go to and you have an average of 3-5 minutes to eat. Sounds ok but then you won't even taste that food. Thank God for that.

I dunno..I always liked the food at the Chow halls I went to. Granted I never went to an AF one..Just Marine and Navy.

Ah the joys of basic trainning, so much fun. Too bad I couldnt ever pass the running part of basic, was in for about 8 weeks total, before comming back. Damn flat feet. My lil sis currently is almost finnished with all her schooling and leaves for England in May.

Also the fun part where you get to learn how to address the TI while holding your bags with your arm parallel to the ground was always fun.

Oh, I'm gonna miss you, Grai. Even though you're already gone, you'll read it when you get back (hopefully). Best of luck with basic training.
My cousin had to go through Army basic training here in GA (he's a Border Patrol agent)--from all accounts, it was incredibly hard. But he made it. And you will too.
The Navy was offering me a boatload of money for college if I'd join the NROTC and serve a few years active duty after college--however, I've got health problems that disqualify me. And I took a sample DLAB (Defense Language Battery Test); I could have done really well as a linguist. Oh well. I wasn't planning on going into the military anyway.
